Chapter 13

Flash back

July 11th 1999

"Honey give it a rest. Our son is dead. He's never going to be brought back to life. I chose you. We can always have another and replace him." Henry looked into his wife's eyes. "We can just do the process again. Now put the baby down and let's prepare a funeral."

Lisa was crying hysterically because of her husbands words. "Our son (Y/n) is a blessing. I'm not going to give up on him." She said and saw Kevin standing in the doorway. "Mom? When will my little brother wake up. I want to see him open his eyes." He said and looked sad. "Will he wake up Mom?"

Those words rung in her ears as the night went on. Her husband had left for work as usual. She went down into the basement where her husband had stored their sons body. Kevin was following behind her.  She took out a vile that contained a black liquid inside. She placed (Y/n)'s body on the floor and placed candles surrounding her son. Kevin watched in Awe and stood silent.

She then lit all of the candle and started to read a spell from her book. She opened the vile and smirked to herself. 'My son will open his eyes.' She thought and continued with the spell. The room started to pick up wind and everything began flying around the room. The liquid started to glow in a purple shade. She then emptied the bottle and poured the liquid into her unborn sons mouth. His body lifted into the air and a large figure surrounded the baby.

Lisa had a look of determination on her face and continued with the spell. The figure twitched and it's body was snapping in all different directions.  The wind grew stronger and the figure was slowly being absorbed by her sons body. "Ah the power of necromancy." She said aloud and turned her head to see Kevin behind her staring in fear. She continued the spell and the screams of a thousand souls could be heard. "Demon, you will return my sons life. You will bring back my son!" She yelled as tears flowed down her cheeks.

Kevin was terrified not knowing that his mother could do something like this. She finished the spell and everything stopped moving. Within a few moments cries from her newborn son could be heard and she was delighted. "Say hello to your little brother Kevin." She smiled at him and just took a deep breath. "Kevin, don't be afraid. You are to keep this from your brother and your father. You must promise to never tell a soul about our families magic. If your powers come one day. Do not tell anyone. Not even your brother. Hopefully he won't discover his." For a six year old, this was a lot to take in. "I promise mom. Now can I hold my brother." He said and she handed (Y/n) to him. "I promise to protect you and keep our secret safe."

April 15th 2015.

Kevin was in his room, he could teleport anywhere he wanted. Kevin knew that his family secret was dark and decided to keep it hidden. He went to the basement and saw all of his moms belongings. "Kevin what are you doing?" She asked. He turned around. "I'm taking all of this to a place where it can never be found. I'd be damned if I let you corrupt my brothers head with this magic talk. I read up on your necromancy spell. You needed to do a sacrifice, that sacrifice was to give up your powers, and you haven't. Since you didn't do that my brother will die, so now I will carry out that sacrifice to protect his life." He said and opened his moms book muttering words. She started to panic when she saw a blue tornado surround her body. She was trapped. "No Kevin you are making a mistake!" She yelled and felt her powers draining her body. Her magic was being inserted into the book. "You won't be able to use- ugh- the book unless (Y/n) opens it. He won't be able to hold all of my power." She started to cough up blood once the spell was over. Kevin just smirked and looked at her. "Farewell mother. Me and this book are going to a far away land. You won't get your hands on it, you won't be able to harm my brother." She looked up at him. "He has a demon in his body, I only wanted to-."

Kevin put his foot on her back. "Wanted to what? Manipulate the demon in him? To gain more power?" She just nodded, "I need that power to myself. And now you ruined it.." she said and screamed when Kevin stomped on her back. "See you in the afterlife." He said and disappeared within seconds.

Lisa stood there lifeless. She couldn't exploit her sons powers anymore and her supplies were gone. "I know, I'll just make his life a living hell. Let's see if Kevin will stop that." She said and stood up walking out of the basement.

Flashback ends.

Kevin jumped awake after remembering what happened in the past. He honestly knew that the truth was eating him up inside. He made a vow to himself. His job was to protect his brother at all costs. He laid back down on his bed and couldn't help but wonder what (Y/n) would think of he knew this information.

He was sleeping on the couch when he heard banging noises. He could imagine what was going on. He rolled over on his side and was very scared of what would happen. He would sit up every night studying the spell his mother used and wondered if it could be reversed without causing any initial harm to his brother. He couldn't find the answer. And since the book wouldn't open to him, he would have to make sure (Y/n) opens the book.

With the little information he had, he knew that he would Have to act fast in order to keep his brother alive. "I'm going to have him open the book" he said aloud and just looked up at the ceiling not knowing what will happen next.
