As I walked around the halls that led to the dining hall, I read a boy that I had started because Grim told me she loved it more than she loved sherlock... So like any sane person, I am reading it. Turns out it was just Sherlock fanfiction her friend had written. I was having a good morning. Grim had woken me up by jumping on the bed, talking about someone she was into this summer. But when I asked who, she refused to tell me, nevertheless it felt like the old days again.
As I made my way down the hall, I got brought out of my book by some people talking. I'm not saying I'm noisy, but I did walk through the halls to voice. The halls were a dime and smelled of old books; I enjoyed that smell. It remedies me of when Griffin and I would sneak into the library. As I got closer, I could tell that one voice belonged to Gwen and the other was from someone I could not just pinpoint. When I turned the corner, it was my brother's best friend talking to Gwen.
'Do you really think it would be goo-, I think someone is coming," Gwen said before I got to finish hearing about what they were talking about because, after that, they changed the subject. I made myself shown in the hallway. When they saw me, Gwen was first to chime in, "oh hello baby, how was your day yesterday. I'm sorry I was gone when you returned from your bathroom trip. But I had been pulled away." She smiled, as well did my brother's best friend; they were fake as all could be nonetheless. When she spoke, and added a bit of cheer at the end of every sentence. But I could hear her annoyed when I was there. So I made my exit without a word. Truthfully not my best exit, but I am way too tired to speak when needed.
I smiled and turned around and speed-walked the rest of the way to the dining hall.
Most people had already taken their seats when I got there, and Grim saved one for me, but she talked to Selma. They seemed to be in a disagreement. Which was not surprising.
Luna passed me before she tried and gave me a hug. Luna was Bellatrix's older sister by a year. She was in the same house as me, so we three hung out during lunch unless Luna was not with her boyfriend. He was friendly, but he was year 6th. She won't tell us any more than that. We talked about summers and how it would be this year with Griffin. Last year I was not here. I spent it at home. My parents wanted to discipline and watch me the whole school year. I saw Luna looking over my body with a sorry look on it. But she said nothing. I felt like I was naked when people did that, as if every mask I had put up had fallen, and now they saw just how horrible I really was. As we walked to the table, I stopped to talk to a few other friends from different tables. When we got closer, Salem walked off just as we arrived.
"So my dear sweet sister Bellatrix, what were you and Hallewell talking about," asked Luna like she already knew the answer. Grim gave her the stink eye before waving her hand in the air well stating, "nothing inapplicable." she smiled.
"You two are bad liars, spill," I dead-eyed grim again.
"I said nothing, Simon.." the last part said more as a warning.
I could only hope she would tell me sooner or later. We ate breakfast.
I mentioned the events with Gwen and Steven, but the two said it was probably just those two being wired and not to worry. But Gwen is my girlfriend, or at least was before the incident, and showed no sign that we were broken up. So I should stress, but every part of me couldn't care less about what she was up to. One thing that would not leave my mind was what was up with Grim's because ever since we were little, we told each other everything. So I made a mental note to ask her about it alone. After breakfast, we made our way back to our dorms to prepare for class.
The class went by as usual, boring. I was lucky I had most classes with grim all but Risks Of Blood Magic. I get bored and like to think about what everyone would be when they are older. I came across a boy with brown hair, almost red in some light. The boy wore a bottom-up and slacks with his robe; I enjoyed looking at him but never knew who he was. I had known him for most of my life, yet when I looked at him, I thought of nothing he could be.
