Chapter 5: The Proximity Paradox

I glanced at tita while pouring myself some milk. Nalunod siya sa paper works na pinadala ni daddy.

She's the model of our company. Ayaw niya kasing mag handle ng kompanya kasi it doesn't suit her style daw kaya naiwan kay dad at mom ang lahat but she still gets some of the paper works.

I watched her as she headed onto the pantry and got her a bottle of tequila. Then she looked for a glass on the cabinets.

"Seriously? You're going to drink? This early?"

"Yeah, you want some?" She casually asks.

"Unbelievable." I rolled my eyes in disbelief.

"Oh, stop nagging me. I should be the one who does the nagging cause your mom is not here." She sat in front of me and poured some tequila on her glass. "You sure you don't want some? 

I shook my head in disappointment. 

In tita just shrugged. "Suit yourself."

"Then, maybe you should act more of your age."

Tita was left with her mouth half open. "Oh wow. Look at the girl who acts double her age."

"At least, I'm responsible and reasonable with my actions."

"Oh, you're no fun. At least your cousin knew how to be fun." She said, pertaining to sienna.

I sighed. When is she going to stop acting like a teenager? Napailing nalang ako. I still need to go to school.

Tita can never be told. Let's just leave her be. 

"Okay, what's going on. Cause there is clearly something and you gotta tell us." I lift my gaze up to what  Aubrey is fuzzing about as the three settles down on their seats. 

"Hmm?" I look at them ng nakakunot. 

"Nako! From accompanying him in the infirmary to him taking you out for coffee-a date?!" Cherry exaggerated.

"A date? Baliw. No, it's not a date." I denied. Cause it wasn't naman talaga. 

"It's no big deal really but... rumors tend to exaggerate depending on people and then it becomes big deal." Cavin exclaimed.

"We just had coffee." We actually met there by coincidence, i was already there when he came about and started pissing me off. 

"Ooh." Aubrey's reaction. "Talaga lang ha." may pagdududa pa niyang dagdag. 

"Oo nga." sabi ko naman. 

"Well, I suggest you better watch out. You may not notice it dahil parati kang nakayuko sa libro mo but a lot of girls are crazy, I mean, crazy crazy over Ferrel." Cherry also nodded with what Aubrey said.

"Especially when they think the girls he's seeing is someone who is better than them." Cherry pointed her hands to emphasize me from head to toe.

Umiling nalang ako sa mga pinagsasabi nila. Then, I excused myself after para pumunta ng bathroom. I quickly got into the most nearest cr and got in. After checking the other cubicles, I went in one.

When I got out of the cubicle, I heard a loud slam on the door of the restroom as if something was slammed on it. Bigla akong kinabahan at nanlaki ang mga mata. I gulped. Mas lalo akong nagulat ng may biglang pumasok na isang babae at isang lalaki, naghahalikan.
