"It wasn't a dream"

It was the next morning. Kakashi woke up with a jolt. He sat there on his bed wondering if what had happened last night was nothing but a dream, he had no other show that it wasn't. If it was not a dream, how had he come to be in his bed with underwear on?

He continued wondering this until he found his hand on a piece of paper. He took the parchment and examined it.

Dear Kakashi,

I am sorry to leave so quickly before you woke up, but I fear I no longer hold a place in this village, everyone thinks I am dead and perhaps that's how it should be. Please forgive me for my initial intentions to kill you. Please believe me when I say after Rin died, I saw nothing but hate and I aimed it at you without knowing everything, but I am glad I now know the truth. And although I never plan to return to the village, please know that I am glad that I was able to see you again, for had I not I never would've known what really happened to Rin, nor would I have learned my true feelings for you. Please know that despite everything, I regret nothing of what happened between us Kakashi.

All My Love,

Obito Uchiha

Kakashi had to fight back the tears as he read this. Had all of this been a dream, he could have gone on with his life and forgotten it, but knowing it wasn't, knowing the man he loved was alive, how do you move on from that?

Several Weeks Later

Many weeks had passed since the night Kakashi and Obito had shared. Nothing had changed, the village still believed Obito to be dead and Kakashi had gone back to his ninja work, that is, until today.

Kakashi was going over to his sensei, Minato Namikaze, and his beautiful wife, Kushana Uzumaki's house for lunch. Kakashi had not seen Minato since he had become a fully-fledged ninja of the hidden leaf, so he was looking forward to it.

As soon as he got to the door, he knocked on and waited until he was greeted by a very happy redhead, "Kakashi! I'm so happy you could make it, I've missed you," Kushana said hugging him tightly.

She pulled away very quickly and looked at him with a shocked and happy face, "Kushana let the kid in," Minato said coming in behind her.

"Hello, Sensei," Kakashi greeted, "It's nice to see you again."

"You as well, come in."

Kakashi followed them into the house where Kushana sat down with him and after a while, Minato brought a lovely spread of food for them. They all sat together and enjoy themselves eating, laughing, and talking, all having fun, until Kushana said something that shocked both men, "So Kakashi, would you please tell me who the father is?"

Kakashi froze, meanwhile Minato was trying not to choke on his food, "sorry Kushana but I don't quite follow."

"Please, Kakashi I smelled it on you, and of course, Minato told me of your condition, so who is the father of your baby?"

Kakashi could not believe what he was hearing, he couldn't be pregnant, yes, he could get pregnant but he and Obito had only had one night together. How was it possible? If it was true it would have to be Obito's for he had never been with anyone else. "O-Obito" he whispered looking at his stomach.

"What?" Kushana asked barely hearing him.

"It....it has to be Obito's."

"Kakashi that's not possible," Minato said finally getting a hold of himself, "Kakashi, he's dead. We all know that."

"I'm not lying sensei, the baby is Obito's."

"Kakashi, Minato is right, he's been dead for years now," Kushana chimed in.

Kakashi continued to look at his Stomach. He knew very well he was alive, and that he was the father of his child. Kakashi reached into the pocket he kept Obito's note. He grasped it and then handed it to Minato and Kushana. They both looked at him confused until Kushana took the note. After reading the note she was shocked, she quickly handed it to Minato who looked at Kakashi. "Why didn't you tell anyone?"

"Sensei, who would've believed me? No one has seen him in years. I thought he was dead myself. If it wasn't for that note, I probably would've thought it was a dream."

"Kakashi," Kushana tuned in, "I understand, but you need to think of the baby. It's not just yours. There is the possibility that the baby will have a Sharingan. Kakashi if that happens, the baby is going to need proper training."

"What are you saying Kushana," Kakashi asked, feeling as though he knew the answer.

"Kakashi, you need to tell his family."

Kakashi looked down, he didn't want to tell anyone. Everyone thought he was dead, including his family, "Kushana, I can't. He's supposed to be dead, and he wants it to stay that way."

"Kakashi, she's right, you might have a Sharingan but the baby is going to need the rest of its family," Minato told him trying to get him to understand.

"But what if they go looking for him? Sensei he doesn't want to be found."

"Well, maybe that would be a good thing. Kakashi, he needs to take responsibility for his child!" Kushana screamed growing angry at Obito.

"Kushana, please calm down. This isn't good for you and the baby," Minato said fearing what would happen.

Kakashi froze. Not only did he find out he was pregnant, but his sensei would also be a father. "Kushana, your pregnant?"

"Yes," Kushana said with a sigh, "And parent to parent, I strongly suggest either telling the Uchihas or reaching out to Obito."

"Either way, Kakashi you need to think of the baby," Minato told him, concern clear in his voice.

Kakashi looked down and contemplated his options. He didn't know how to find Obito, let alone tell him he was carrying his child. On the other hand, who was to say the Uchihas would believe he was pregnant with Obito's child? He was dead to everyone in the village. "Neither of you is going to give me a choice, are you?" he asked.

"Not when there is a baby involved, Kakashi," Kushana said, "If it helps, I can tell the family, I am friends with Mikoto after all."

Kakashi did not speak, he simply nodded his head in the hope that they wouldn't make him talk anymore on the topic. Kushana leaned over and took his hand, "Kakashi, it'll be okay. We'll be with you for every step."

"She's right, you're not alone. We'll help you. I promise," Minato assured him coming over and placing a reassuring hand on his shoulder.

Kakashi smiled, he had truly been blessed with an amazing team as a child. Even though half of his team was gone, he was lucky to still have his Sensei and Kushana.

The rest of the evening went by rather quickly. After much laughter and fun, Kakashi finally went home. When he arrived at his home he went to his bed and sat for a moment thinking of what to do about the child, and about Obito. After several moments of contemplation, he pulls out a penile and paper from his bedside table and began writing a note.

Dear Obito,

I know you have been gone for weeks now. You probably don't remember that night, but I do. In fact, that is the reason I am writing this to you.

After we became a team, I was examined. During the examination, the doctor informed me that I had a rare gene called the Omega gene, which allows me to carry children.

Today I went to visit Kushana and Minato Sensei where Kushana gave me the shocking news. Somehow, she knew I was carrying a child. Obito, I know the baby is yours, I have never been with anyone else, and I have no intention to either.

Kushana is going to tell Mikoto Uchiha about the baby. If this letter somehow finds its way to you, I hope that you will understand the decisions being made. Please understand I am doing this for the sake of our child, and I'm sorry if it betrays you.

All my love, Kakashi

Kakashi sealed the letter and sent it on its way, not knowing where it would go, or if it would get to its destination. After staring at the sky for several moments, Kakashi finally settled in and went to bed, thinking of how his life will soon change.
