Stormterror's POV

It had only been a few days since Venti left me. It was almost like he had been whisked away in a heartbeat. I wasn't sure of how he vanished, but a single blink and he was gone. I couldn't even believe it myself either. Venti had cared for me for a while when I was no longer part of the Four Winds. Actually, a lot of people did when I was injured. It was the fact that Venti seemed to care for me the most, that caught my eye.

I don't understand what happened. All I did was try not to lash out on humans. I did just fine, I thought? I told him to wait as I reflected on what he had told me, yet he wasn't at the grassy hill littered with gigantic rocks once I finally made my mind. Did Venti even realize I finally felt freedom for the first time in a while? Able to express myself? He helped, but now he decided to ditch me?

Swooping to almost ground level, I noticed a gray colored vent implanted on the ground. Not sure on what it was, I poked at it with a claw. Nothing happened, besides a loud ring disturbing my ears in the process. Shuddering, I stared through the cracks of this mysterious vent.

Why was it there? And why did it decide to suddenly pop up now? As I perched on a rock, I sensed movement from within the vent. Becoming completely silent, the vent popped open with a loud pop and slam in the process. I couldn't believe what I saw before my eyes.

Venti.

The boy looked at me with a wistful look. Venti breathed deeply before climbing out of the vent, and shutting it closed gently. He extended an arm, stroking my head in a gentle manner. Oh, how it felt nice to be reunited with a human I cared about.

"Stormterror," Venti began, before taking a long pause. He showed a stern gaze, yet it was somewhat soft. "I didn't mean to leave you. And I didn't leave because the way you are with humans."

I growled lowly, listening to the boy. So he didn't mean to leave me after all.

Venti inhaled, and would continue. "There's something I need to confess."

I edged closer, hissing under my breath. Was there really more to the story? Was it something complicated that would unravel?

"You see... I left you because I wasn't sure if you could handle the fact I was the imposter all along. The sus one."

Venti backed away, with a sad smile. "I'm sorry. You lost among us this round."

He crawled back into the vent, and disappeared without another word.

In the blink of an eye, Aether appeared behind me with an enraged look on his face.

"You killed Venti!"
