to be fair, y/n wouldn't think she would actually spend her day before christmas with anyone.
in japan, it's tradition to celebrate the twenty-fourth of december with someone that you like, love, whatever. it's a day where people spend their day appreciating their significant others and spoiling them with gifts, food, and love.
and y/n doesn't have anyone, so she didn't think she would spend it with anyone.
but here he is,
kotaro bokuto.
with flowers, a heart shaped balloon, and a box of chocolates with a ribbon.
all for her.

"what the hell are you doing, kotaro?"
panic is heard in her voice.
she has no idea how to react. is this his way of showing that the male likes her? is this what people do when they have a crush on someone?
certainly not in y/n's world!
but yet, here he is; standing in front of her door, at eight pm, with chocolates, a balloon, and some flowers.
and he's wearing a beanie.
and they're her favourite chocolates and flowers.

y/n nods, not knowing what else to do.
she's just wearing her pyjama's. she was watching the tv show friends on netflix, not thinking she would go out anymore.
the female spent her day baking cookies, buying some more christmas gifts and wrapping them all. she made sure to get something for everyone, as that's what they were supposed to do for christmas.
but now that bokuto is at her apartment, with all these gifts in his hand, the female is panicking.
it's nice, it's not that.
she just didn't expect this.
and especially not from bokuto.
aren't they supposed to be friends or something?
help, this looks like something else than friends.
oh, crap. was that what kuroo was talking about yesterday? become something more than friends? is this what he was referring to?

time to throw bokuto out of her apartment–
but no, she can't do that.
instead, she lets bokuto in, and he places everything on her dining table. he turns towards the female, and smiles.
"can i take you to the christmas market? they have some games, nice food, and i think it should be nice to go there together."
so, guess what y/n is going to do tonight instead of watching friends?

it's not far from her house, so the two are there in less than half an hour. (the female still needed to change her clothes, as she was wearing her pyjama's. bit weird to go there while wearing that).
y/n looks around as she walks next to bokuto.
it's magical.
there are so many lights everywhere. so many people spending their time with loved ones. families with kids, couples, elders; they're all there, enjoying their time eating nice food and playing games.
and that's exactly what bokuto also planned for the two.
he was so nervous asking the female out. he wasn't even planning to do so, but when he and akaashi talked about it over facetime yesterday, he knew he needed to do something.
why wait to express his feelings towards the female, as he could also do it now? it was a shot he was willing to take, and today would be the perfect day.
he could spoil her as much as he wants, and show her how much she means to him, if she didn't know that already.
which she didn't because both are blind as hell.
"you want some marshmallows to roast?"
after those words, all they did was eat all kinds of nice treats. they were from all over the world; dutch mini pancakes, belgian waffles, beer from germany, english tea; whatever you might think of, there were all kinds of treats that the two ate, and kinds of games that they could play.
and they shared it all together.
just like they share their love for each other.
