The forest was a blur through the speeding cars window.

Troy: Where even is Tiger Creek?
Mom: Far away.
Troy: So its in hell.
Dad: Don't worry son, Tiger Creek isn't in Canada.
This made Troy laugh for the first time in the two weeks since the news.
Mom: You'll love it once we actually get there.
This made Troy laugh again out of disbelief.

         Seven Hours Afterwards
Mom: Here we are.

The car pulled up to a huge dirty old mansion.

Troy: Gee. I didn't know that our car could travel back in time to the 1700s.
Mom: Hush, you. I love it.

They unpack and bring all their things into the prefurnished dusty home.

Troy: *hears a trickling water sound* What is that?
Dad: The creek.
Mom: Go check it out, we can unpack.

Troy tries to hide his excitement as he wonders to the creek.

Troy (thinking): Wow.

The creek is a narrow, murky stream of water, hidden from humans by the thick surrounding forest. As Troy looks around he sees a green glimmer from the edge of his peripheral vision. His eyes dart to the spot where it was. He waits. The green light comes from the water again. He leans towards it. He slowly crouches down on his knees and reaches his hand out to the water. Slowly.... slowly.... The second his hand touches the green light it zips itself into Troys hand and clenches it in a fist.
Troy is bewildered. He cautiously unclenches his fist. In it is a shining green emerald the size of an avacado pit. Troys eyes widen as he stares at it with curiousity.

Dad: Trooooy. Time for luch!
Troy didn't know what to do, so he threw the stone into the creek. He started to walk back to the rotting Randall residence. He felt a hard hit in his hand. The rock was back in his newly clenched fist.

Troy: What the hell?!?!?
Dad: ExCUSE ME?
Troy: Oh, nothing.
Dad: Get over here. Now.
Troy: Coming.

At the dinner table
Mom: How was the creek, Troy?
Troy: It was ok, i guess.
Dad: Did you see anything interesting?
Troy:(yes) no
Mom: Thats disappointing.
Troy: Yeah.... may I be excused?
Dad: Yes you may.

Troy goes up to his room to examine the mysterious emerald. As he takes it out of his pocket he steps on a bad floorboard just as he reaches the sixth floor. He falls. Just as he is about to hit the ground he instinctively holds his hands up infront of his face. He feels a surging feeling and a green flash of light.. He opens his eyes. He is hovering above the ground on a cushion of green energy. He looks at his hand. The emerald is shining bright green. It stops glowing and Troy hits the ground with a small thump.

Dad: Oh my god..... Troy?????
Troy: (Yelling up) Don't worry dad, I'm fine.
Mom: I'm calling an ambulance.
