Today was Tuesday and Judah and Dee's date was on Friday. Today Elizabeth insisted everyone was to spend time as a huge group and she wanted them all to go on a long walk through the park and woods.
"Elizabeth, do we have to go on a walk? It's pouring with rain" Dee complained, looking through the window in the living room to see the rain pouring heavily.
"Yes. Now go wrap up warm, we're leaving in ten" she warned the girl. Dee rolled her eyes and headed upstairs to her bedroom to change her clothes. She quickly looked through her wardrobe and chose a black tight long sleeved body suit, thick black leather leggings and then her long black coat, cream scarf and gloves and even a cream bobble hat to put on her head.
As she got changed, she glanced at herself in the mirror and noticed her bruising on her ribs had only slightly gone down. They still didn't look great and she cringed at the sight of them, hating how they looked. She sighed to herself before continuing to get changed.
Once she was ready, she headed downstairs to see everyone waiting for her.
"Finally" Meala muttered, rolling her eyes as she said so.
"Shut up" Dee snapped, hearing what the girl had said and earning a laugh from Judah and Tez.
"Mother Grier can we go now please?" Tez asked the woman.
"Yep, come on people move it!" She called through the house, clapping her hands together to make people head for the front door.
Once everyone was out of the house, they all filed into their own groups and headed for the park.
"Dee! Can we race?!" Skylynn asked the girl as she ran up to her, her face lighting up with hope.
"Awe sky I'm sorry but my body is still super sore from the accident last week. I don't think running would do me any good...." She told the girl with guilt. Skylynn pouted but nodded anyways.
"I'll race you little one, let's go" Tez told the girl, patting her shoulder and getting ready to race her. Skylynn cheered and the two sped off down the road as they raced one another. Judah and Dee chuckled softly as they watched them run away.
"How are the bruises looking?" He asked her curiously, turning his head to look at her as they walked side by side.
"They've gone down like the tiniest bit. They don't look anywhere near good though" she muttered, feeling shit about it as she told him. He gave her a sympathetic look before changing the subject.
"I like your hat, it's cute" he chuckled softly. Dee started laughing slightly, looking at him as if to say wtf?
"What?! I didn't want you to feel shit so I tried cheering you up" he laughed defensively.
"Okay fair enough, thanks...I appreciate it" she laughed softly. He smiled down at her before grabbing her hand and holding it in his as they continued to walk down the street.
The group eventually arrived at the park and headed for the woods to walk through. The rain was still pouring heavily and for the last five minutes all anyone was listening to was Meala complain about how her shoes were getting ruined.
"Okay guys! Lets meet back at the gate of the park in an hour and a half and then we can all walk home together" Elizabeth told everyone, checking her watch as she said so.
"But mom I thought you wanted us all to be togeth-" Nash started, but was cut off by his mom.
"Go and do what you guys wanna go do!" She ushered us all away.
"She was definitely fed up with Meala's complaining there" Dee muttered to Judah as they all started walking their separate ways.
"Can you blame her?" He laughed. Dee shook her head.
