De building seems to loom over her, daring her to take another step closer. Amelia gulps, scanning over the adres on the paper in her hand again to see if she was at the right place. Yup, this was still her brother's house. Unless Tony decided to mess with her and give her a wrong address. That possibility actually seems more likely than her brother living in this.. normal house. It wasn't like him at all. It was dainty and well taken after, the opposite of the chaos that Phineas is. Or was.
Maybe Amelia doesn't know this man at all.
She slowly walks towards the front door, passing the clean cut greenery of the front garden. Once she reaches the porch, she stops. Amelia didn't even know if he was home.
Because this is his home, not with her in London. Why was she even here? Looking at the perfectly normal house where her brother started a new life, because her family wasn't good enough.
While frowning she coolly kicks the flowerpot standing on the porch floor. But watching it fall over and roll around spilling dirt didn't make her feel any better. Maybe she needed a bigger pot?
"Uh, hi? Can I help you."
Amelia jumps at the female voice behind her. She turns around and lays eyes on a middle aged woman standing in front of the porch. The woman gazes at her in wary curiosity, holding a bag of groceries in her hand. Forget about that plant, she needed to leave.
"Oh, hello! I'm.." The witch tries to come up with an excuse, "..I'm selling cookies for the girl scouts?"
It came out more like a question.
The woman raises her eyebrow, staring at her empty hands, "Oh? And where are those cookies?"
"They are.. gone. Yeah, I'm sold out. A real pity, I'm sorry to disappoint. I thought I had some left but I must have miscounted. I'll uh- I'll be sure to start with this house next year. When, you know, the cookies are back." Amelia gives her a sheepish grin, casually walking past her while making pointy fingers. "Or uh, you can fight the old woman from around the corner for some, she bought like twenty boxes." Amelia looks back and holds a hand next to her face, as if telling a secret, "She said she had been a girl scout and wanted to support us but I just think she just has a sugar addiction."
The witch turns back around, casually trying to flee as fast as she can without looking any more of a fool then she already does, "Anyhow, I'll be out of your way. So uh yeah, goodbye."
But as her fingers grace the gate from the front yard, a male voice calls out.
"Amelia?"
She stills, slightly folding into herself.
"Amelia? As in, your sister Amelia?" The woman behind her asks the voice.
The witch leans against the gate, trying to compose herself. She calms her breath, masks her expressions and slowly turns around.
"Yeah, hi again. I'm not really a girl scout."
"What a surprise." the woman sarcastically replies.
Amelia lifts her eyes higher, finally meeting the blue familiar ones of Phineas. They blankly stare at each other, taking the other person in. Phineas looked fairly the same, only older, more muscular and more put together. The beard was also new, and so was.. the lack of hand on his right side. Amelia focuses her gaze away.
"Why don't you come in?" The woman asks her, nudging Phineas with her elbow to get him out of his daze.
He clears his throat, "Yeah, come in."
