Magenta eyes began to open in the bowels of the cave.
The awakening man began to sit up, confused and groggy. Where even am I? He began to question himself. As his gaze scanned the area, he slowly stood up. Above him was a cliff edge, and just in front was some kind of passageway.
At last, he began to speak up.
"Vivi...? Arthur..? Where are you guys?"
He put together the pieces of how he got here in the first place. Right, I was here with the gang. But..how did I get down here? Where did they go..?!
The thoughts began to build in his mind....
"Perhaps I can be of assistance?" A voice spoke out from the darkness.
Lewis froze for a moment upon hearing it. It sounded vicious and cruel, pretending to be helpful. He didn't trust it fully, but listened anyways.
"Can.. Can you help me?" He timidly called back.
"Why of course, this whole situation must be confusing for a new soul like yours."
New soul..?
As he looked down, his eyes widened in shock and horror. He was standing by his corpse.
"I know, I know, such a shame. Who would do such a thing?" It paused, before a grin appeared from the source of the voice.
"Why are you smiling like that?" Lewis was beginning to feel unnerved by it's presence.
"Why, I know a game we can play." The grinning figure continued, "The rules are simple. You can take a gamble and learn of the truth, or leave it at that and figure it out yourself. I assure you, the results of either would be quite... entertaining."
"And what will happen if I seek the truth? You did say it's a gamble.""Oh, but telling you wouldn't make it fun. It's a surprise!"
"Well, okay... Just give me a minute." And so, with a huff, Lewis sat down on a nearby rock to ponder. It sounded risky, but then again, he was ready to risk anything in order to find out what happened to him. He had assumptions, but they couldn't be true. Arthur wouldn't...
"I've decided." Lewis stood up from the rock with certainty, "I will take you up on your offer, no matter the cost."
"..."
"What's that look..?"
"Are.. you absolutely sure.. you wanna do this?"
"..Yes. Why the hesitation?"
"I don't think you're gonna handle this well-"
"I'll try!"
"Whatever you say, pal.."Lewis was all ears.
"Sit back down, let me tell you of your tragic fate..."
