I yawned and sat up. Mason was mediating on the floor. Maybe I should try doing that sometime. Relieve some of this stress. I leaned over and poked him in the back of his head. He opened one of his eyes and glared at me.
"Hey buddy... Watcha doin?"
"Mediating."
"Where's Michael?"
"Pool."
"How long was I asleep?"
"Couple of hours."
"Ooohhh... So now will you tell me what you guys are?"
"All in good time."I pouted. Obviously this conversation was going no where. He closed his eye and went back to meditating. I was bored and I wanted someone to play with. I picked up a pillow and held it in my hands. It was soft and fluffy. I giggled quietly. I always thought feathers would look good in Mason's hair. I aimed the pillow at his head and threw it. He caught it before it could make contact.
"Aw come on! That was a perfect aim!"
He giggled and tossed me back the pillowed I caught it just as he stood up.
"You know you could have asked me if I wanted to have a pillow fight."
"Yeah I could have, but what fun would that be?"
"True."He walked into the bathroom and I turned on the tv. I started flipping through the channels. I stopped when I saw America's Got Talent. I love that show. I watched as a dance group came on. Once their performance was over, I started clapping and screaming. I do that whenever I see a performance I love. That's when a pillow knocked the wind out of me. I glanced towards the bathroom door and Mason was standing there shirtless with a grin a plastered on his face. A felt something warm and wet trickle down my nose.
"Umm are you okay?"
"Yep.. Never felt better."
"Why do you have a nosebleed? You must see something you like?"His grin turned into a smirk and I rolled my eyes. He disappeared into the bathroom and reappeared with a damp towel. He walked over to the bed and gently pressed the towel against my nose. I tried to hold it, but he hit my hand.
"You know I'm not five."
"Yes I do, but I think I should take care of your nosebleed since I was the one that caused it."
"And how do you know that?"
"I saw the way you was staring."Was it me or did his voice just get deep? I let it go and tilted my head back a little. Mason's phone ring and he answered it.
"Hello... Uh huh... Hold on for a quick second."
He took my hand and replaced it with his. I snickered and pressed the towel harder against my nose. Quickly, he got off the bed and went outside in the hallway.. Wonder what that was all about? I pulled out my phone and checked the time. It was now 11:37. I climbed out of bed and went over to the balcony window. I pulled back the curtain and it was pitch black dark. I let go of it and went back to bed. Mason came back in and he looked upset, tensed, and stressed.
"You okay?"
"No.. We have to leave now."
"Why?"
"They're coming for us."
"Who?"
"See can you get ahold of Michael."He disappeared into the bathroom and I heard the sound of running water. I dialed Michael's number and waited for him to pick up. He never did. I called back a few more times and got the same result. I started freaking out. Why the hell isn't he picking up? I hopped out of bed and put on my shoes. I raced to the door and opened it. I came face to face with a man dressed in all white. I didn't trust that.. I slammed the door in his face and Mason stepped out with a towel wrapped around his waist. My gaze went to the floor. Didn't want to get another nosebleed..
"Did you get ahold of him?"
"No, but he have some company."
"Where?"
"Outside.. He's dressed in all white."He started swearing under his breath. My phone rung and I quickly answered it.
"Hello?"
"Baby are you and Mason still in the room??"
"Yeah."
"You have to get out of there now."
"Why??"
"There's no time to explain!! You just have to get out now!"My phone went dead. I glanced up and Mason was fully dressed. The balcony door was opened and our suitcases were missing. Okay, this is just getting weird. He grabbed the car keys and took my by the hand. He pulled me to the balcony. I leaned against the rail and looked down. I couldn't see anything because of the darkness.
"Mason?"
"What?"
"What are we doing out here."
"We have to jump."
"You crazy! I am NOT jumping."
"There's no time."That's when a loud ticking sound could be heard throughout the room.
"What is that??"
He didn't respond.. He lifted me up and threw me over the balcony. I closed my eyes and started screaming, but my screams were soon silenced by the roaring wind. Soon, I landed in someone's arms. My arms quickly latched around the person's neck. Mason has gone completely insane! Throwing people over the balcony like that. What's wrong with him!
"Everything is going to be okay now." A soothing voice assured me.
I opened my eyes to find Michael holding me. I gave him a light kiss on the lips then slapped the hell out of him. He held his cheek and glared at me.
"What was that for?"
"Scaring the hell out of me."
He chucked lightly. "Fair enough."A huge explosion came from our room. I looked up and fire was blazing out of the balcony window.
"We should get going." Mason said as he emerged from the darkness.
Michael put me down. We quickly got in the car and sped down the road
"Okay look.. I don't know what's going on, but I would really appearance it if I got some answers."
They didn't say anything. I hated when someone did that. Irritates the fuck out of me. Why weren't they given me any answers? Wasn't I deep in this just as they were?
"I have had one messed up day. I've been chased, shot at, and almost blown to pieces! Now if I don't get some answers right now, there's going to be some serious repercussions around here!"
Michael let out a sigh and pinched the bridge of his nose.
"If I tell you something, will you please be quiet until we get to Mason's house?"
"Yes."
"You just became a criminal on the run."
