Secrets (Bnha - Todoroki x OC)

Chapter 12

Lily POV

This is it. Today is the sports festival. I have been training so hard everyday with Shoto to ready myself for the festival. We still have not talked about the kiss though. I think he might have forgotten about it. I guess it was not that big of a deal to him. On another note, almost two weeks have passed since I told dad the truth. The day after I told him, he came over and we packed all of my stuff in boxes and then I teleported them to my new room at might towers. I have been living there since then. I did not have much to pack so the boxing went by quickly. We have really bonded over these past few days. It almost feels like he has been here all of my life. He has visited me on patrols. We eat meals together. We even made a pillow fort in his living room one night. Today, he tried making making pancakes for me, but I guess it did not go to plan. I guess it is the thought that counts.

Flashback

Beep Beep Beep

I open my eyes and turn off my alarm on my phone. "UGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH" I groan. I guess I have to get out of bed.

I get out of bed and change into my uniform. As I braid my hair, I look over to the calendar. My eyes widen. Today is the Sports festival. I am so excited I actually get to participate today. I can;t wait! I quickly open and walk out the door. As I open the door, a smell of smoke hits me. My eyes widen. Fire. I run out of my room as the smoke permeates the hall. 

"AHHHHHH!" I hear Dad scream. I quickly run towards the direction of the scream. I run into the kitchen. The thickness of the smoke increasing as I got closer.

"Dad! What is going on?" I ask him. Whatever I was expecting, it was not this. I was not expecting the sight in front of me. I look around. The whole kitchen is ruined. Pancake mix is all over the counter. Dad has a frilly apron on and is covered with pancake batter. I look towards his hands. The pan he is holding in his hands has smoke coming off of it.  I look up towards the ceiling. I see a half cooked pancake, stuck to the ceiling. I look back towards dad and he seems to have an embarrassed expression.

"Sweetie. It is not what it looks like." Dad says flustered. I raise my eyebrow.

"Really? To me, it looks like you are trying to burn down the kitchen. Were you trying to cook pancakes? You could have woken me up or waited for me to cook breakfast." I tell him, my arms crossed. Why didn't he just wait for me or woken me up? This is going to take a while to clean up. I see him look towards me and sigh.

"I'm sorry. I wanted it to be a surprised, but cooking is a lot harder than I thought it would be. I wanted to make you breakfast as a way to say good luck at the festival. I guess I failed.  You have been cooking all of our meals and I just wanted to surprise you." Dad says, looking dejected. I put my hand to my mouth.

"Dad......That is so sweet, but next time, leave the cooking to me. Also, you are always welcome to help me in the kitchen." I say, a small smile gracing my lips. Dad's expression turns to one of joy. I see his eyes start to turn glassy, tears slowly falling. 

"Thank you sweetie. How did I get so lucky with you? Also, how are we going to get the pancake on the ceiling down? I kind of went to flip it, but I flipped it too hard. Also, I meant to say this first, but good luck at the Sports Festival. I know you could win with ease, but knowing you, you will probably let someone else win. Have fun at the Sports Festival." Dad says to me. I nod. I look towards the pancake on the ceiling. I will use my teleportation quick to get it down. I walk towards the trashcan. I snap my fingers and the pancake is no longer on the ceiling. All of the sudden, the pancake appears next to me, dropping into the trashcan. That solves the pancake. I turn back towards dad.

"I got the pancake down easily. And thanks dad for saying that. You are right. I could win easily, but you know I am doing it just for fun. I do not need to be scouted. I already run my own agency." I say. He nods and look toward the spot where the pancake used to be.
