Kim Jisoo nervously made her way to the ornate cabin

Kim Jisoo nervously made her way to the ornate cabin. The CEO has been throwing rather nasty tantrums since morning. He had called for her, probably to give away her fair share of a piece of his mind. Loud curses and deprecating comments were heard from the room.

"You're lucky that we even hired a piece of trash like you!" came from inside the room.

'Geez, I wonder who pissed his cereal today,' thought Jisoo.

The next moment, the door opened, revealing Seulgi, her close friend. She was a shivering and crying mess. Jisoo's heart ached seeing her like this. As she was about to comfort her-

"Miss Kim! Enter!" called the CEO's stern voice, making Jisoo wince.

Jisoo prayed to whatever god was to up there to keep her job in her grasp. She gulped audibly and walked into the office.

Kim Taehyung was currently initiating a massacre. Not a literal one, but a massacre nonetheless. He looked up to see Jisoo timidly walk into the office with her assortment of articles for the week.

He held out his hand and Jisoo immediately handed him the stack of paperwork which took her many sleepless nights to complete.

The crease on his forehead smoothed out as he finished going through her work. He returned her papers with an approving nod.

"Well, looks like at least someone comprehends the fact that we are amidst a crisis," said Taehyung massaging his temples, "Why isn't anyone sensate to the emergency of this situation?! We have a reputation to keep up, for Pete's sake!"

He then looked intently at Jisoo.

"Well, Miss Kim, seems to me that you have proved your conspicuous distinction from the given lot," He said "That you are not like that daft, good-for-nothing bimbo I spoke with earlier."

Jisoo might be a girl who has been taught well and knows how to respect her superiors, but she is not a girl who is discreet about her opinions especially when she is right. He was unnecessarily bad-mouthing Seulgi, her hard-working friend, behind her back.

"Excuse my impertinence Mr. Kim," She said sternly, "But Seulgi is normally an extremely efficient-worker. You yourself have admitted that. I do not see how your post-pubescent mood swings should affect the competency of the employees."

To say that Taehyung was taken aback would be an understatement. It took him precisely four seconds to digest what she had said. He looked at her with bloodshot eyes, and his demeanor darkened significantly.

He stood up, and leaned closer to Jisoo, who was shifting uncomfortably in her seat.

"Are you really that eager to get rid of your job?" He spoke lowly, evidently trying to intimidate her.

Jisoo's throat went dry. She mentally reprimanded herself for talking too much.

She was half expecting him to fire her or slam the table next, but instead, he sat back down, fidgeting with a pen.

"Well," he disinterestedly began, "Since your BFF is that dear to you, I should hope that you will face no difficulty in taking up her tasks alongside the ones allotted to you. You will be single-handedly completing the articles given to both of you, till the end of this week."

Jisoo was about to protest, but she knew that was the only way to save her job. She felt helpless, but begrudgingly accepted in the end.

"Good." He said with a malicious glint in his eyes, "Now, if there is nothing else you want to add, I suggest that you get started immediately."

Jisoo's cheeks stiffened in a tight professional smile as she wondered how many shots of beer it would take for her to loosen up. She walked out of the cabin and was instantly engulfed in a bone-crushing hug from Seulgi, whose tears were yet to dry.

No sooner had she started hugging her back, than Seulgi pushed her away, sending her stumbling backwards from the impact.

"Are you really that dumb? Can't you just shut up for once?" Seulgi asked, her behavior taking a 180, "You already know that he has a sort of distinctive hatred for me. He is convinced that I am a bimbo! Now nobody asked you to be a feminist and stand up for me! How can you expect me to chill out in Malibu, sun-bathing over a bag of damned chips, while you're stuck here with this toddler of a boss, working your ass off?!

"Did I just defend you back there so you can give me a headache from your incessant yelling?!" Jisoo asked annoyed, but her tone was soft, "And judging from how ruthless our boss can be, he's not going to let you off the hook. But now, at least I'll know that you'd be doing a whole lot better than me. And don't stress yourself out too much over the weekend. The sole purpose of vacations is stress-relief, and I want you to enjoy yours, okay?"

Jichu Unnie:

Of course! Let's meet up at the Fire and Ice Pizzeria at around 2:00.

(^◕.◕^)

Limario:

'Kay unnie !!!

Lisa smiled as she sent her reply. She was finally back in Chicago and was given the warmest welcome by her friends. Unfortunately, she couldn't meet up with all of them due to their crammed schedules. Rosé was busy with photoshoots for an upcoming event. Joy had her head buried under mounds of paperwork. Wendy was in Dallas for a vacation. Judging from how Jennie has been acting up lately, Lisa was scared to even ask her for a meet-up. This left Jisoo, who was reluctant to come at first, owing to her work-load, but she loved Lisa too much to refuse.

She walked up to the tinted glass door of the pizzeria, between two laburnums that dazzled every passerby with the unbearable beauty of their honey-coloured blossoms. The pizzeria was almost empty, with only an Asian couple talking animatedly in the corner. Lisa pulled out a wooden seat, somewhere in the center. Jisoo had already told her that she'd be running a bit late. She sat back and decided to help herself to some drinks in the meantime.

She motioned out to a waiter and rummaged through the menu to decide on a drink. She looked up to find a waiter, but not the one that she had asked for. A friendly smile was blossomed on the waiter's face.

And that bunny smile alone could squeeze the air out of any girl's chest.
