~Y/n's POV~"Y/n, this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity!" The director waved his hands around, I gripped onto the script.
My 18th birthday just passed 2 weeks ago. I never really wanted to be famous, my actual dream was to become a veterinarian, I adored animals. When I was younger, my parents allowed me to do some small commercials for kids' toys, and that was it. My friends took my "experience" seriously and they forced me into an audition for some new teenage romance movie.
The director has directed a lot of iconic movies before, I sighed hesitantly. He was offering me the role of the protagonist since he said I looked like her and portrayed her well (after he made me read some lines). Maybe? I don't really know. I'm still in my senior year of high school. The movie was about some teenage girl falling in love with some guy, all that cliché teenage romance shit. I've never really been in a serious relationship to know about love.
I've dated 2 guys back in elementary school though, and I held hands with them too 🌝. I'm a player, I know, I know 😩. This role was a huge thing. I was hesitant because...I'm scared of having my first kiss. I don't know who the male lead role is, but if I accept this position, I'll be forced to kiss him for some of the scenes. There's even a s.εメ scene in this movie. HELL NO-
I know it won't be real s.εメ, but kissing is still scary. My friends sat next to me, trying to convince me to accept the role.
"Can I think about it?" I sighed, the director frowned.
"I guess, but let me know your decision soon." He reminded me, I nodded.
He walked away to a middle-aged lady. I could see them talking and laughing. I felt like I recognized her somewhere...my mind was racing to find out who that lady was.
"Isn't she a fashion designer for celebrities?" Winnie mumbled, my eyes widened.
NO WONDER! I always saw her name on the credits screen in movies. I did try purchasing some of her high heels for my mom, but they were sold out already. And they were expensive too 🙄.
"Dude, you should accept the role. This is huge! You can be famous! And earn money, eh?" Ellie vigorously shook me, I groaned.
"But I'm too shy...and I don't want to be made fun of in school," I whined, Winnie shook her head.
"No, by the time this movie comes out, we will be in college already. Hey, and this is very good for your college application. You can major in theatre arts and put this as experience." She stared into my soul.
"BUT I DON'T WANT TO MAJOR IN THEATRE!" I rubbed my face, trying to show my friends my frustration.
I did tell them I wanted a part-time job...just so I can feel better about myself. My family wasn't financially struggling or anything like that, I was trying to find a job so I felt more mature.
"You naive bitch, you can just change your major once you get into some prestigious college! We're only using theatre major to get you into college," Ellie explained, I looked around.
That sounded like a really good idea...
"But I would have to kiss someone-" I scrunch my nose, my friends facepalm themselves.
"YOU'RE 18!" Winnie and Ellie screamed at the same time, I smiled wryly and shrugged.
My eyes scanned around the audition room, tons of people were here. That made me feel a bit queasy. People were reading their lines aloud, some were waiting for their loved one to finish auditioning, and some people were shaking in anxiety.
My eyes stopped at one particular boy. He walked into the door, and was carrying a heavy box along with him. The box was almost overfilled with items, such as costumes and props. He placed down the box and walked over to the fashion designer lady. She hugged him and introduced him to the director (I'm assuming by their movements). The boy was around my age, maybe a bit older? He had this...unforgettable smile. It was so striking. Maybe it's because the boys at my school are ugly...but I thought this boy was so handsome. He wasn't dressed in anything fancy, just some casual jeans and a shirt.
Yet, his body figure made the simple outfit look elegant. His facial features made him look ethereal. DAMN, AM I SIMPING?! He looked over at me, and we locked eyes for a second. My stomach churned. He gave me a small smile.
"Isn't that Mrs. Park's son?" Ellie whispered, Winnie nodded.
"Yeah, but he's super private. He's kinda cute." Winnie giggled, I rolled my eyes at my friends.
Thirsty whores...Nah, I'm playing, THEY WERE SO RIGHT-
"How old is he?" I was in a complete daze.
"19 or 20, I think. Google doesn't have much information on him except he's the son of a businessman and fashion designer." Ellie glared at her phone.
"Oh shit, well at least I'm 18 and legal," I smirked and tucked a strand of hair behind my hair.
"WAIT, YOU LIKE HIM?" Ellie almost screeched.
"Uh no, I was jokingggg." I huffed.
"Mehhh, I don't think you were. It's okay, tell us. We're your besties." Winnie leaned on my shoulder.
"Hell no, I was just playing. I would never." I pushed her off, she scowled.
"I need to go take a shit. That Taco Bell made me gassy." Winnie groaned, rubbing her abdomen.
"I'll go with you." Ellie offered.
"You should come too, Y/n." She added, I refused.
"I'll hold your bags while you guys go," I said, they nodded and left.
Just then, Mrs. Park walked over in my direction, I was nervous for a second. Was it because I was lowkey checking out her son? I almost sighed in relief when she was just grabbing a script.
"Jimin, you should audition for fun. Look at this. Come here!" She called out.
I was sitting next to the stack of scripts, so I could hear everything. Jimin (I'm assuming it was the boy's name), walked over to Mrs. Park.
"Mom, I don't even want to be an actor." He mumbled, she handed him the script.
"Maybe you'll find a passion for acting, hmm?" She tried to persuade him.
"I'm majoring in arts...I want to be an artist, not an actor." He grumbled.
"I'm not saying you NEED to be an actor, this can be a fun thing for you. You can tell your kids you were in a movie once you're older." His mom continued.
"You're not going to stop anytime soon?" Jimin chuckled, I pretended to be on my phone.
The tea 🌝.
"Nope, how can my son be so introverted? I want to see you express yourself more." She sighed, he sulked.
"Fine, I'll read the script. Maybe I can work backstage?" He grinned, I swear, that smile is laced with cocaine because...I'm in love with it.
"As long as you agree to socialize more, then yes." Mrs. Park soon walked away to the other staff members.
I glanced up at my phone, he was flipping through the script. He suddenly walked up to me and sat down on the chair next to me.
To be continued..
