Pat was cooking in his small apartment, Pran was walking up and down the room since his boyfriend told him that he wanted to make dinner on his own. As the food was ready, Pran walked to the table and sat down, he smiled at Pat when he gave him a bowl and took a piece of meat.

"It is quite good... you are getting better Pat, maybe I should let you cook more often" Pran remarked as he continued to eat.

"Thank you" Pat replied excited, he took a piece of meat as well and ate it... it tasted gross. He looked at his boyfriend and Pran was still there, smiling at him and pretending to like the food Pat prepared with so much love.

"Wait a minute, you don't have to eat it, we can go out and take something else..." Pat stated.

"No, really, it is good... why are you making such a big deal? It tastes... fine I drop the act... it is terrible... but you looked so happy when I told you that it was delicious..." Pran responded with a sad face.

"Pran, next time I make something terrible... promise that you will tell me immediately... this was absolutely the worst thing I've ever cooked... come on, take a jacket..." Pat added, he stood up and took the two bowls to throw what was supposed to be food.

Pran left the apartment and waited for Pat in the corridor, he was still regretting what just happened but all his thoughts disappeared when he saw Pat leaving his house. He was smiling again... Pran couldn't understand if he was trying to look happy so that Pran didn't have to feel sorry or if he was genuinely happy... he just knew he loved that smile.

"Come on, let's go, do you want to go to our usual place or you want to try something new sweetie?" Pat said, and carefully looked at his boyfriend trying to feel his reaction to the words he chose.

"There is a new sushi restaurant nearby, why don't we go there? Perhaps they still have a free table" Pran answered with an excited tone.

"S...sure..."

"What's wrong? Are you afraid that I will drain your wallet?" Pran added laughing.

"What? No, not at all..."

They got out of the building and started walking to the new restaurant, the air was quite fresh...

"It is cold..." Pat started

"So?"

"Well... I feel cold..." Pat continued

"Then what? Do you want me to control the weather?" Pran replied.

"Oh come on..."

"I won't give you my jacket, do you think that I don't know that you just go around with nothing more than a t-shirt just to show off?" Pran exclaimed. He quickly realized that Pat didn't appreciate his last comment, he was frowning and looking away from him.

"I won't give you my jacket... you stink..." Pran added, but while saying so, he came closer to his boyfriend and ran his hand over his back, reaching Pat's left shoulder.

"Is it any better?" Pran asked.

Pat didn't reply, he just turned to him and with a smile that forced his eyes to stay closed, he nodded.

"Anyway... you said that there was something you wanted to talk about, what is it?" Pran asked.

"Oh right, I've almost forgot it... sorry... I have noticed that your friends... didn't really accept me... it looks much more like they barely tolerate my presence..." Pat started.

"You must admit that your friends don't seem to like me a lot too..." Pran interrupted him

"Yeah, I know... that's why I wanted to tell you an idea I had... we don't have plans for tomorrow... and I know for sure that Korn is free as well... why don't we invite some of our friends to my house tomorrow evening for new year's eve?" Pat explained

"Well... it doesn't sound that terrible... but are you sure it is a good idea? Put a bunch of drunk people who usually fight just by looking at each other?" Pran replied.

"I know what you mean... but we have to do something... I know that your friends are really important to you... especially Wai... your family likes him a lot, if I get on his good side your parents will accept me more easily"

"Ok ok... you don't have to add anything else... I accept... but if they start to fight I will blame you" Pran said jokingly.

"You already blame me for a lot of things, I'm used to it... I might even say that I enjoy it"

"I'll call them tomorrow to see who is free... I have to think about how I can convince them... oh, here is the restaurant, look! There is a free table!" Pran said and ran inside.

"Thank God he's in a good mood... or he'll order the whole menu just for revenge..." Pat murmured to himself. Pran came back excited and said:

"They said that we can enter, I'm so happy, I want to try everything on the menu!"

"Shit..."

"Did you say something Pat?"

"huh? No... no..."
