It was a fine morning, the cloud was all over blue and the birds were singing in groups which signifies that it was a bright morning and the sun was about to rise. Hasanti was a young man at the age of 18years, he was black in complexion, tall and handsome; his eyes were very attractive and he was so brilliant in school. Hasanti wakes up every morning to fetch water for his parent and he was the only son of his parents; they love him so much but also make sure that they trained and raised him well. Hasanti was a very kind young man and his ambition always was to become a great leader and liberate his people from the clutches of abject poverty. Hasanti goes to school every day and make sure all his homework are done and submitted within time; his teachers were very proud of him. Hasanti had a girlfriend whose name was Mimilove; he loves her so much and they both attended the same school and they were in the same class also but Hasanti was always ahead of her and her dream was to become Procurement officer. They always do things together and as their love grows so also their career to become successful increased. Hasanti loves to attend political seminars and in which one of them was the seminar of their community House of Representative, it was a blissful seminar, Hasanti got the opportunity to meet and chat with the honorable himself. Hasanti became more motivated by the seminar but was a little skeptical about the speeches of the honorable in which he became fused and foggy as the honorable was shedding out a lot of promises before the next elections. Hasanti did not give up on his dream to become a great politician or leader; he continued on that part until he became graduated as a first class Degree holder in Political Science.
Some years went by, after Hasanti graduated, he became one of the youth political activists in the community advocating for developments and in most of his advocacies, and he usually spoke his intentions in the next elections. But one thing kept running the mind of Hasanti and that was, "was it really possible to win political positions without telling a lie?" this question always pops up whenever he attended political activities. One day, he luckily witnessed the President campaign and in one of the president's speeches, the president told a lie and Hasanti decided to confront him during the question and answer session and that nearly cost him his life. His parents were worried about the path their child has undertaken because it was a very dangerous path but Hasanti believes in truth and telling the truth was always his slogan.
Hasanti's first encounter with the President made the headlines and everybody in the country became concerned about the young man. He became more popular and his ambitions started to yield dividend. Everyone became aware of him as a man of truth and his humanitarian characteristic cannot be compared but all of these suddenly started to fade out when Hasanti and his girlfriend came together after her studies. As the elections started drawing closer so also Hasanti's activism became more and more popular in the country; he lectures youths on how to behave in political campaigns and warned them of deceit politicians, though some listened but others turned deaf ears to the advises and later, Hasanti got a shocking news that few youths has been killed in a political clash during the main opposition's rally. This news made Hasanti to take up the challenge to witness every political campaign to make sure it ended peacefully and he was successful on that.
Few days left before the election commences, Hasanti was called by the President because Hasanti has won the hearts of 70% citizens in the country, he was offered huge sum of money to declare his support for the president but Hasanti refused the offer at first instance and when his girlfriend and parents heard of it they became frowned at him and even decided to disown him if he does not accept the offer. Hasanti has been left in a state of dilemma and there was no other way than to accept the offer and became part of the misleaders in the country. He took the offer but vowed not to be a liar and a deceit to the people; he organized a seminar the other day and told his followers his intentions and why he declared for the president. The moment Hasanti made that pronouncement, the crowd started murmuring and some people started dispatching to their various homes and Hasanti knew this would happen because politics in itself was a dirty game.
After the pronouncement, Hasanti was seen with the President campaigning up and down though Hasanti was not happy because if anything goes wrong or if the president reelected and he did not fulfill his promises, blames will apportioned to him too. After the elections, the president was reelected again and Hasanti was made Minister of Information; he was the spokesman for the state. The appointment devoured Hasanti's dream and all trusts from the people were lost because he was saying things that was not actually happening and he became an enemy of the people and truth.
All what Hasanti's stood for was destroyed in a single favor he accepted from the politician. His parents and partner were not even bothered about his reputation but the money. This went on for some time and one day, Hasanti realized that he has made a grave mistake of his life and he decided to publicly apologized to the people and start his activism but it was too late for him because the people had already given up on him and they even branded him as 'Black Sheep'.
In the end, Hasanti had no choice than to return to the path of lie, he lost his credibility and integrity and was seen like any other deceitful politician in the country and his dream to become a great leader or politician shattered away. The people were left with nobody to fight for them and the one person they were looking up to has disappointed them and that made them to lost trust in every single person that comes to them saying "he or she is the voice of the people". The action of Hasanti has jeopardized the hope and trust of the people and made them see activists as "Sheep in a wolf cloth".
