Prologue
He shook his head side to side repeatly , trying to shake the horrifying flashbacks of what had happened two years ago out of his mind. The rushing flood of memories and promises bought tears to his dark brown eyes. His head kept shaking, whipping his meduin length hair around.
Finally, he stopped. He bowed his head to the floor squeezing his eyes shut trying to stop the tears from falling in front of her. Koden couldn’t help to look back into her blue orbs, similar to his own. Her hard glare was slapping him in the face. He whimpered and looked back down at the floor, staring at his shoes. He heard Joanna sigh.
“I-I’m sorry” Joanna shook her head. “I am so stupid.” She watched Koden just casually shrug and turn away from her; still staring at the floor.
“Koden. Please!” She cried. She placed her small, delegate hand on his shoulder. Her hand trembled.
Koden realized maybe, just maybe, Joanna was sorry for bringing the nightmares back and using them against him.
“I know you never meant to do that to him.” She whispered barely loud enough for Koden to hear, but he heard. Koden inhaled a breath of Joanna’s Victoria Secret perfume and the cigarette smoke coming from himself.
Joanna removed her hand knowing Koden would never forgive her for saying those things. Joanna regretted bringing up his past, just to win the fight. She never meant to, it was a madder of anger. Joanna thought he didn’t want her anymore. She just quietly left his apartment.
