He held her body in his arms, holding her head up gently. "Come on.. stay with me.." He cried, his voice shaky and choked up with sadness.
She stared up into his eyes as the pain in her side slowly started to numb, as did any other feeling in her body. "Please don't cry.. You know I hate to see you cry." She whispered as she reached up, placing a hand on his cheek and wiping his tears away.
"Please.. Dont leave me- I... I dont want to be alone again..!" He sobbed, leaning into her gentle touch, able to feel her once warm skin growing colder by the second.
"You know this isnt goodbye.. We'll meet again one day. I promise." She murmured, smiling softly. "Can you do something for me..?"
"Yes, anything.. anything, dear.... what is it..?" He replied, willing to do anything in his power for her.
"Smile..." She said as she took her final breath, her body falling limp in his arms.
And as the rain poured from the sky, all that could be heard echoing through the city was a broken cry of grief... She was gone.
