The cold laboratory fell silent as the glass cylinder bubbled and brewed, the faint sound of a breathing apparatus slowly grew louder as a middle aged man came into the room observing the creation that was being held in the tube, it was a person and not just any person, it was Peter Parker. The man looked up at Peter with pride as he spoke in a calm voice "hello...can you hear me?" He asked as Peter slowly twitched in the fluid as he continued "my name is Miles Warren, I've spent my long days figuring you out and today I've done just that my friend" Miles added as Peter tightly clenched his fist unbeknownst to Miles as he continued adding on "together we can show all those companies just how much I'm truly worth" he spoke with glee as Peter's eyes snapped open and without warning cracked the glass with a single punch.

Miles reered back from this, confused on how he had this much strength this early in the project. Peter continued punching the glass until it eventually gave out, shattering into many pieces and flooding the laboratory in the strange liquid. Miles attempted to tackle Peter with no avail as Peter simply picked him up and threw him behind him, knocking him unconscious and allowing him the chance to escape into the bellowing streets of New York City with some rags he stole for clothing as Miles laid on the flooded floor left hopeless that his creation overpowered anything he could've anticipated.

Peter found a nearby alleyway where he leant his back against the cold brick wall taking a quick breather to reorganize himself "where the hell was I?" He asked himself before he noticed how there happened to be this weird ring shaped ship high in the sky. Peter was confused at the sight, especially after he saw Spiderman swing over into that direction. He was lost, he thought he was the only Spiderman on earth, he couldn't do anything due to not having any of his equipment and then proceeded to pass out on the floor, struggling for even the simplest of breaths.

(An hour or two later)

"Give me your purse!" He faintly heard as he slowly woke up, looking over the dumpster bin beside him as he saw a average sized man robbing this woman who was scared for her life. Peter had enough and slowly came out behind it as the man aimed the double barrel shotgun right at his face, Peter simply smirked at this and grabbed the gun, bending the barrel upright so it couldn't fire. In that moment he forced the man up in the air and held him by his throat as the woman behind him regained her composure but suddenly the man exploded into a pile of dust beneath his hand as Peter reered back just as Miles did to him in confusion and as he looked back to the woman she had also began to fall into millions of dust particles.

Peter ran out into the street to witness so many more people do the same as he was left in complete shock and knowing there was only one spot he could go "Aunt May's" he whispered as he ran as fast as he could, not having his webshooters, he leaped from building to building in countless somersaults from rooftop to rooftop until finally he made it over Brooklyn Bridge and into Queens where he snuck into room and called for May in a hurry with no response. Peter was alone for the first time in years and in a stranger turn of events, he may not even be the real Peter Parker. Whoever he was he wasn't going to let this weaken him.

When he grabbed some of his supplies he decided to take some of Peter's clothing and leave, knowing it'd be pointless to stay. Before doing so he also took Peter's old web shooters which were much bulky in appearance and some of his tools and equipment to make some of his own and then he climbed out the very window he snuck in through and swung out into the near empty city of New York.

The city felt quiet beside a few faint screams this man whoever he was simply couldn't do anything to help stop it, he felt powerless and that's when he found an old clocktower which was constructed into a penthouse, he knew he could get into trouble so he had to take it easy just in case and as he set down his equipment he looked through some of the items he took from Peter's room and noticed a blue hoodie, black spray paint and an old red skin tight suit he had when he first started off being Spiderman that's when he had an idea, if he'll try something else. He turned on the TV and got to work on his new suit creating a large spider stencil.

"On recent reports it seems that half of planet earth has completely vanished without a trace" that's when he looked up to show see the news showing just some of the avengers, political figures and students in New York that disappeared during the disappearance and that's when he sees a picture of himself on the television. Whoever he was shocked by this and became annoyed by it, he was Peter...at least thats what he thought, he looked just like him, has his memories and in a fit of rage he grabbed a nearby glass and threw it off the balcony, slamming his hands down on the metal railing exhaling sharply.

Peter or whoever he was decided he can't let this tear him down, he walked into the bathroom trying to see if they had any "hair dye! Yes that might work" he spoke hurriedly as he decided to take on a different appearance and name to not let there be any confusion for anyone who may know Peter Parker. Hours later he came out the bathroom his hair now a light blonde and got back to his work on his new suit, he used the stencil to spray paint the spider onto the blue hoodie and started tweeking his old web shooters allowing him to carry more web cartridges on him at all times. He then stitched his new mask and suit to have the eyes stationery before not long finishing his suit, if he couldn't protect the city as Spiderman then he'll be someone better, the Scarlet Spider and on that day not only was the Scarlet Spider born so was the infamous Ben Reilly.
