The time arrived and I grabbed my bag and placed my notebook in there. I didn't dare go in the dining room for dinner after what happened earlier.
Once I walked out into the living room Al came running towards me. He gave me a strong hug.
"Is everything alright?" He asked sincerely once we pulled away.
"Yes." I lied."Everything's going to be fine. Don't worry."
"Are you sure? I heard yelling last night." Al explained."And I just wanted to make sure that everything was alright."
Before I could say anything, mom came in the living room and answered for me.
"Everything is just fine." Mom said as calm as she could."We just had a misunderstanding that's all, right Raven?"
"Yes, everything's fine Al." I followed along with what mom was saying.
He bought it and he flashed another one of his sincere smiles.
"Good." Al replied.
His eyes then laid on my bag and he then looked back at me.
"Where are you going?" He asked.
Mom shot me a warning look and I nodded vigorously afraid of what she would do.
"Duty calls, Al." I explained."I'm hunting vampires again."
"Be careful." He said.
"Don't worry." I said."I will be."
"Shouldn't you be going?" Mom suggested."You'll be late."
I sighed."Right. I'll see you later, Al."
"Bye Raven!" He exclaimed.
I didn't dare look at my mom as I left the house. Vaiden was outside waiting on his motorcycle.
He didn't glance at me at all as I climbed on his motorcycle.
"About time." He snapped.
"Sorry, I lost track of time." I replied hastily.
He huffed out a sigh as we took off. I can't believe he's going to keep acting this way. The entire way there was in complete silence, not a word was uttered. I mentally shook my head. He just doesn't understand that's all.
Once we arrived, I got off his motorcycle. He didn't even glance my way as he got off.
"Would you stop acting like an asshole?!" I snapped."You don't even know what really happened!"
He turned to face me and he was angry.
"I know perfectly what happened." He sneered."You met that blood sucker and you fell for him."
At that point I lost it and I blurted out."He saved my life, Vaiden!"
His eyes widened as he took a few steps back.
"He could've let me die, but instead he chose to help me." I explained.
"Blimey." Vaiden gasped."I'm sorry Raven. I didn't even let you explain."
"It's alright." I replied."I forgive you. Shall we got inside?"
"Yes, we shall." He said with a smile.
With that we went inside where I saw Armarius, Keiko, and Taia were shaking their heads in a disapproving manner.
I was well respected in the Colony, but now I ruined it. Damian and Vincent approached Vaiden and I.
"We'll take her to the main room." Damian said in a tone that left no room for argument.
"Alright." Vaiden replied.
With that I followed Damian and Vincent into the main room where Alyssa, Scar, Aunt Leila, and father were waiting.
"We have her." Vincent said.
"Good, now Alyssa and Scar you'll watch from afar." Dad instructed."Make sure Malik's son doesn't see you."
"Understood." Alyssa said.
With that Alyssa, Scar, and I got into the elevator. No one uttered a single word while on the elevator.
I took a deep breath. I can't betray Stelian, but I can't go against my family either. What am I going to do?
