Hello! Welcome to Without Me! I hope everyone will love these characters as much as I do. Happy Reading!
—————————————————I had always thought the idea of love was perfect for a book or a movie, but that it didn't exist in the real world. Books always tend to make everything end happily, no matter what the characters go through in the story. I found it nauseating. In my experience — and from what I'd seen from my parents — people were more in love with the idea of being in love. It never worked out. Too much shit to deal with to be able to completely devote yourself to someone.
It was a very negative way to look at the world, but everything I'd seen and experienced up until a certain point in my life pointed to that conclusion. That all changed when he popped into my life completely unexpected.
The point in my life when I had fallen in love so deeply that I didn't think anything would ever be able to break that.
But all good things must come to an end. I was right all along. Nothing lasts. That's just the way the world works, I suppose.

One year earlier
I take a few deep breaths and drown out the noise around me. The only thing I pay attention to outside of my breathing is the owner of the club at the mic, waiting for our queue to go on. Taehyung is standing a few meters away from me, bouncing on the balls of his feet in excitement. Hoseok is behind me, messing with a few strands of my hair to keep his hands busy. I let him, even though it's driving me nuts, because I know it's his way of trying to calm down my nerves and also his way of calming down his.
"And now for our talent tonight. Please give a warm welcome to The Lot!" The owner announces. I take one last deep breath and walk out onto the stage with a smile on my face.
The club is packed, even for a smaller club. I wave out to the crowd and look at Taehyung and Hoseok, both of them giving me a thumbs up to let me know they're ready. I nod and step up to the mic, immediately going into our first song.
With Taehyung on bass, Hoseok on drums, and me on lead guitar and mainly singing we work like a well oiled machine. Hoseok is a master at his craft and keeps Taehyung and I in check with the tempo.
During the pre-chorus I take out one of my in-ears to hear the crowd singing every single word with us. A giant smile appears on my face while I sing. It's the biggest gig we've done and it seems like most everyone here is a fan of ours. Most people that have come to our gigs in the past were hearing us for the first time, but now it seems we have a solid group of people wanting to hear us and come to our shows.
As I finish the last line of the song, I laugh a little into the mic. I look at Tae and Hobi, seeing them both smiling as well. "Hi guys! Thank you all for coming out tonight! My name is Lottie,"
"I'm Taehyung,"
"I'm Hoseok, and we're The Lot!"
The crowd cheered again and I can hear a few shouts of requests for different songs of ours. We launch back into the set. An hour and a half later, we say our goodbyes to the crowd through the cheers. As we walk off stage, I see a familiar face and smile even wider.
