It was second grade for the boys and girls, and today was a momentous occasion. There was a new family moving to town and there was going to be a new student, people rarely move to this quaint little mountain town.
Everyone was wondering if the new kid would be in their class, and if they were a boy or a girl. The door to the classroom opened and in walked a little black haired boy holding a star trek action figure. "Introduce yourself to the class and then have a seat." Mrs. Henderson smiled. "Hi! My name is Kevin Stoley and I really really like sci-fi movies. ESPECIALLY those about space travel!"
Kevin then ended up sitting next to little Craig Tucker. Such a coincidence too since they had the same interests. Craig too loved space and movies like Star Wars and Star Trek but kept that more lowkey because he didn't wanna be bullied for being a nerd.
"Hey, name's Craig." He flipped him off. Kevin thought that was a weird greeting, though he didn't understand what putting the middle finger up meant. He copied Craig and put up his middle finger with a smile, "Hi!"
Craig let his eyes fall to the figure the asian kid was carrying around. "If you wanna survive at lunch you might wanna hide that." He spoke with the greatest care, he didn't want a fellow geek to be destroyed during recess.
"I don't want to, this makes me comfortable." Kevin responded, he knew very well he might be bullied but he didn't care too much. "It's your funeral," Craig shrugged. "Sit with me at lunch, I'll introduce you to my friends."
