The slow, eerie glow of the forest lit up Jack's face as he crept through the garden. It was midnight and so his aunt and twin sister were asleep. Forests weren't supposed to glow, right? But then again, Jack hadn't actually seen any other forest before, so who knows? There were no forests in London.

"Charlie! Don't creep up on me like that! I thought you were Aunt Cara!"
"Well you shouldn't be outside at midnight."
"Oh come on! I just wanted to see the forest! Father told me would take me to one after he got back from the war! Neither father nor mother are going to now!"
Charlotte winced. Their father had died when his ship sunk on his way to the war, and their mother had been killed when a nazi bomb landed on their home. "Ok fine," she huffed, "but we can't take to long."

"Charlotte, did you hear that?"
"Hear what?"
"The whooshing noise...." Jacks voice faded into amazed silence. "Look behind you"
Charlotte turned around only to see the most amazing creature she had ever seen
