I woke up, made some coffee, and took a sip. It was the day, the day when our expedition will start.

A week ago I received an email stating that I was to come to my office immediately. Upon arriving I was greeted by my senior who led me into his office.

"Meet Prof. Sid and Prof. Mako. They read your book on marine biology and were impressed by it, and now want you to accompany them on an expedition." said my senior.
"Who?" I asked as I turned around to see them behind me.

Prof. Mako was a mineralogist from Japan. She had a friendly personality.

Meanwhile, Prof. Sid was an archaeologist from England. He had a stern look on his face. His personality was the polar opposite of Prof. Mako's. He was very strict and didn't like jokes and got annoyed at the slightest of problems.

They explained that a cave had been found near the Mariana Trench that led to some ruins that belonged to some advanced civilization. Multiple expeditions had been launched into the ruins but the expedition that they had asked me to be part of was the biggest one to date.

"So would you like to be a part of our expedition?" asked Prof. Mako.
"Well sure, I would love to. Give me the details" I replied.

So this is how I got into this mess.

Drinking my coffee I took a bath. Nothing feels better than drinking coffee while taking a bath. After I packed my bags I took a cab and headed down to the port.

At the port, the 'Penetrator' was docked. It was a majestic ship fitted with the latest machinery to assist us in our expedition. The day our expedition will start will also be its first day of sailing.

The moment I boarded the ship Prof. Sid and Prof. Mako greeted me.

"So ready?" asked Prof. Mako.
"Yes, I was born ready for it." I replied.
"Don't get cocky now." Said Prof. Sid in a frustrated tone.
"Don't mind him, he is always like this." Prof. Mako said in a joking manner.

They later led me to my quarters and asked me to come to the bridge when ready. I unpacked my bags and kept everything in place to make my quarters resemble my home. I told myself that everything will be ok after all how bad could it be?
