(Y/N)'s povI woke up from my bed. I felt different but in a good way. Like the way you just got out of a hot shower type of feel. It feels great. I looked at the ring I had on my finger. It was very pretty, an indigo color. "(Y/N)," It spoke. What? "Did you just talk to me?" I asked. "Indeed, (Y/N) (L/N), you have been chosen to join the indigo lanterns and spread compassion onto your planet. As yours, like many others, need it." It said. It's voice was very monotone and robotic. "Why me?" I asked, "I'm not the nicest person..." I remember the awful things I've done to people. "That's why I chose you to be better and those around you." It said, "To change the world you must change yourself." (That was the deepest message I will ever put in a fan fic) "Thanks I guess." I said, "But what am I supposed to do?" "I cannot give any direction to what you should do but I advise you to start out small." It advised, "Go to where you feel like it needs the most help." "If you need me, I will always be here." It stopped talking, I guess I need to help the places it truly needs it. I got up from my bed and looked around in my room. It's old, I haven't lived here in a while, only when I wanted to. No one knew my secret apartment, not even Harley. I looked in the mirror. "I can't go out like this," I sighed. I took my mask off and looked in my old closet. I remember what I used to wear before I turned to villainy. I grab some jeans and a (Favorite band) tee shirt. (Mine is Green day :D) I grab what I need to grab from my drawer. I head to the bathroom and take a shower. I got out and did my hair and got dressed. "Ok, I'm dressed, time for food." I said and walked to the kitchen. My apartment wasn't the best. One room, a bathroom, a living room, and a small kitchen. I walked in and looked at the food I had in here. Not that much but there will be more soon. I opened the fridge and grabbed the milk quart. I checked the expiration date. "Can't drink that," I said and put it in the trash. I close the fridge and open the small cabinets to see a box of breakfast bars. I grab it and check the expiration date. "Good, I can eat these." I smiled. I grab a bar and open it's wrapper. I began to eat it and finished.
I walked to my door and left my apartment. I walked down the hallway to the stairs and down I went. I was in the main room and saw the receptionist at her desk. K. I walked out of the building and saw Gotham, the crime ridden city as it is. I walked down the street, the eyes of a normal person made this place look horrifying. 'I'm supposed to change this city,' I thought, 'The ring told me to start out small and I will do just that.' I walked down the sidewalk and looked for a job. 'I need to start fresh,' I thought, 'Why not go work for the antique shop? It's close to my apartment and they're haven't been any crimes at that store.' I headed towards there. I walked in and an old man was at the counter. "Hello miss," He said, "What can I help you with?" "I saw a sign at the front door and would like to have a job here." He seemed surprised. "Are you sure?" He asked. I nodded 'yes'.
Time skip because writers block The man's name was Erik Key. He lived alone. His shop was the few things that weren't bought by the bank. I was the only person who wanted to work here. Mainly because all of the other people were criminals, specifically thieves. Even though this place is a gold mine of treasure that criminals would love to steal from, I highly doubt they would.
