Bonnie sat on the couch as Freddy put the tickets his partner had won at the arcade into the left drawer of their shared vanity. When he had finished stuffing all of them into said drawer, he pushed it shut, and walked over the couch, sitting next to Bonnie. Freddy lifted his left arm, draping it over Bonnie's shoulder, proceeding to lean into him. The bunny's face turned red at this action, as he slowly closed his eyes, feeling very comfortable. He felt so warm, and wished that he and Freddy could stay like this forever. "Today was a good day, huh Fred?" the bun whispered. Freddy nodded slightly, gently smiling. "Yeah." he responded in a low, warm voice. The two of them sat there, cuddling as they both slowly, but surely, entered rest mode.
...
That morning, a slight pounding at the enterance door to the room had caused them both to come to their senses. Bonnie sat up, his eyes blinking several times to adjust to everything around him as his systems booted up. Freddy, on the other hand, was already up on his feet within 5 seconds, due to him usually not taking quite as long to load. He did just recently get another upgrade, after all. He held out his hand to the bunny, helping said animatronic to his feet since he could tell Bonnie was still feeling pretty tired (as tired as an animatronic could feel, anyway). "Hey, you two, hurry and wake up already! Vanessa has to give us some more maintenance before we can have time to do whatever we want." said Roxy, sounding slightly tired.
The two animatronics walked up to the door, as Freddy grabbed the handle to open it. As he did so, the two could see Roxy, folding her arms and tapping her foot, as the door slid open. "Took ya long enough." she mumbled under her breath. "Anyways, lets get this shit over with so we can all have more time to ourselves." she added, turning around and heading to parts and service, the bear and the bunny following closely behind. They all met Chica and Monty on the lift, Vanessa pressing the appropriate button to start the descent.
As they all waited for the lift to finished said descent, Chica and Roxy hugged each other, telling one another 'good morning', and such, whilst Monty just minded his own business, (as per usual), and Bonnie and Freddy just casually talked. Vanessa stood next to the lift button, consuming a coffee as she tried to wake up as much as possible. She looked like had been hit by a truck, she was so sleep deprived. The lift reached parts and services as Vanessa guided all the animatronics through the familiar sets of doors. One by one, every animatronic was worked on, until eventually everyone had been given the thumbs up to continue doing whatever they wanted. The five got back onto the lift as Vanessa stayed, logging all the information from the check ups.
As they reached the surface once more, the animatronics dispersed into their respective directions. Chica and Roxy going one way (seemingly onto a date of their own), Monty went another (doing whatever he does), and of course, Freddy and Bonnie headed back to their room. It was the weekend after all, and they wanted to just sit back and relax for a bit, and enjoy each other's company.
"Finally that's over with." said Bonnie, stretching his arms over his head, his ears twitching slightly as he did so. "Yeah, now we can relax for a bit." Freddy said in return, as he turned to Bonnie. "Relaxing sounds really good right now." he added. "This week was... rather eventful.". " Yeah, no kiddin'." responded Bonnie, folding his arms as he looked back at the bear. "We finally have time to just chill, ya know?". Freddy chuckled, nodding his head. "Yeah, it's nice to have time to just be with eachother.".
Once they arrived to their room, Freddy stepped in front of Bonnie, sliding the orange door open once more. The pair tiredly walked inside, Bonnie making sure to shut the door behind themselves as they entered. Bonnie immediately plopped down onto the couch, stimulating a yawning sound. Freddy shortly dropped next to him after. "So, what would you like to do, Bon?" the bear asked, relaxing his metal as he sunk into the couch comfortably. "I 'unno, maybe we could watch a movie or somethin'?" the purple bunny suggested, reaching over the side of the couch to grab a tablet Vanessa had given them to 'keep them busy'. "Sure! That would be lovely." Freddy responded.
Since the pair didn't really have any streaming subscriptions, because they were robots and didn't really have a way to pay for any, they resulted to just watching pirated movies online (to which the bear reluctantly agreed to, being the typical softie he was), which Bonnie rolled his eyes at, laughing to himself. They watched a variety of Disney movies (Cruella, Encanto, Luca, and even a few super hero movies), and before they knew it, day had turned into night. Bonnie started feeling tired, and eventually entered sleep mode once again, nuzzling into Freddy's shoulder. The bear soon did the same, and everything went to a peaceful quiet.
...
Crash! Thud! Bang!
A variety of violent and angry noises echoed from Monty's room.
"WHY!" The gator shouted. "WHY DOES THAT STUPID FUCKING RABBIT GET TO BE ON STAGE?!?! HE DOESN'T DESERVE THE SPOTLIGHT! IT SHOULD BE-" The gator paused his angry ranting to pick up a piece of broken furniture which lay at his feet, proceeding to wham it against the nearest wall, which broke the thing even more. "-ME!!!!" he shouted. The past few months, Monty had been... getting rather violent urges. He wasn't himself. Voices would regularly fill his head, telling him to do... rather unspeakable things. No one knew why, exactly. Not even management. Every day, his rage seemed to worsen.
The gator came to his senses, slumping against the wall.
"Fuck..." he whispered, shaking and holding his arms. "Again. It happened again. What... what is wrong with me?" he was nearly at the verge of tears, burying his head into is claws. "I'm... I need to relax. I need to... I need to calm down. I jus' need to wait this out, everything'll be fine.". The gator curled up into a ball in the corner of his room, and tried to focus on entering rest mode. He couldn't stand being alone with his own thoughts any longer, he was afraid what might happen if he did.
After a few long, painfully silent moments, he drifted off. Everything went still.
...
'Huh'. Vanessa turned towards the direction of Montgomery's room as she stopped in her tracks. 'He... stopped beating shit up? I'm not complaining, it HAS been a while since I've had some peace and quiet around here. Still is a tad weird though.'
She shrugged, continuing her rounds as she prepared for the nightly protocols to activate. She had other things to worry about. More important things. This was her only source of income, after all. As she walked through the set of red doors leading to the utility tunnels, she couldn't help but feel a little on edge. Something felt... off. Sighing, she descended down the flights of stairs, her flashlight the only source of light in the rather dark surroundings.
'It's probably nothing.'
She thought to herself, unaware of the fact that she wasn't alone.
End of chapter 2.
