Every once in a while, I look back over my life for several reasons. I never gave one thought about how my life would end up. I always assumed I would never make it to the age of 25. Envisioning a life past then seemed pointless. Especially on that fateful day as I ran for my life while the horrible events that would for6ever change parts of me, and would eventually catch up with me. One thing I have learned, though, is that you can’t run from your past, nor can you change what is meant to be. Fate or destiny, whatever you want to call it will always step in and lead you on the path they wove the fabric of your soul into.
Sometimes I wonder, if I had done things differently, made one simple change in a choice, would I have realized just how complex the possibilities that were once so surreal could now lay before me as my reality. Should I have surrendered and let the sweet peace of death take me over, or would I have the strength enough to do anything that’s possible just to keep going?
Would the fabric of what makes time and space have allowed that? Or would I have continued on with a destiny that I had no clue awaited for me, that was watching me, biding its time to show me its path.
I guess it’s too late for hindsight now, knowing that destiny’s finally caught up with me. She has the knowledge and even the answers to all of my life’s secrets. But even now I’m honestly not sure that I want to take part. Destiny is and always will be, a fickle bitch, as the saying goes. However, my only option left now is to “Go for it” and hope that I’m not making the biggest mistake of my life.
Strange now that for the first time in my life I can remember the voice in my head, whom I’ve attributed to my subconscious, is peaceful, while content to take me on this so-called journey. The voice has never steered me wrong and I hope to God that this time it’s right.
