Chapter 1 Why me?

Being carried towards the sacrificial feast to please the rain God. Celestia in the carriage counting down the seconds left for her life before the sacrifice. She started thinking about her past. How it was used to be when celestia and her mum who used to bake pumpkin pies together and her dad would bring her beautiful flower crown from their garden. Her grandparents used to tell her stories and give her the warmest hugs and kisses. But that one day changed everything for Celestia.
Her thoughts got interrupted when the carriage was stopped near the mountain cliff. Celestia was pulled out by the chains around her neck and hands. The people started saying their payers in which they praised the rain God. As the drums started playing loud celestia's heart started to beat faster. She closed her eyes and mumbled to herself- 'Mom, Dad I'm coming.' The priest started the rituals in which he said his sacred spells. Then the he approached celestia and whispered in her ear.
"if it weren't for you then my sister would have been alive today. Just because of u and your father I lost her. That man was the only reason that she went against our family and left us to live with him. Just looking at u reminds me of him which makes me disgust u more. You have been a burden, not only to me but to the entire village and sacrificing u is the only way to free this village from drought and Vampires". Celestia didn't say anything just lowered her head and let a tear escape from her eyes but she did questioned herself- "Is it my fault to be born as his neice".
The priest cried- 'let this sacrifice free us from drought and hunger'. The crowd cheered and four giant men dragged celestia to push her down the cliff and lifeless celestia being dragged not even bother to free herself cause she knew there is no hope left for her. Now celestia, standing at the edge of the cliff looking down to see no sign of land and her head started spin as she has phobia of heights. The priest said his final prayers and pushed Celestia down. She was screaming loudly while falling then blacked out.

"Celestia.... Celestia.... darling wake up! Don't u wanna get ready for the ceremony. It's getting late." (Celestia pov)- Hearing this soft and sweet voice which sounded very similar to one person whom I had lost 16 years ago, the one whom I wished would have never gone away from me. The one whom I needed the most in my adolescent age.
When I opened my eyes, the sight what I experienced made my heart warm.
I wanted shed tears of joy as well as of longing, because the person who was standing in front of me was no one other than my own mother. I wanted run into her arms to feel her affection and wanted to know a mother's love. I wanted to ask so many questions to her but

I can't move. I tried to lift my head but wasn't able to. I tried to shout but my voice wasn't coming out of my throat. What's going on with me. Then I noticed that mom had disappeared. The trees in the surrounding had died, the flowers which were blooming earlier were now dead and the chirping of the birds was now replaced by vulture's raspy , inharmonious voice. The aura of the place had also changed completely and this sudden change of aura only occurs when a powerful demon is released or a big disaster is going to happen. Then I sensed another aura coming near me which was totally different from the aura of this place that's when I saw a huge figure crawling towards me from the bushes. This creature was emitting was very strong and evil aura and it looked very similar to the monsters in the stories which my grandma used to tell. The ones with sharp claws and fangs and have a face full of scars. The ones with long black greecy hair and have wings as large as an eagle's but with legs as long as ostriche's. But the most scary part about this creature is it's blood shot eyes which could make any mortal scream.

Seeing that monster my breathing became fast and now my body was covered in cold sweat. It came near my face and stared at me for few moments but those moments felt like eternity. Unable to do anything I felt just like a helpless prey trapped. Then the creature came near to the crook of my neck and whispered in raspy drawn-out voice- "Oh, poor Celestia trapped with this vicious curse and no-one to help her. Oh, poor Celestia. But I know a way to cure it." Forming an evil smirk it continues. "I know you wanna see your loved ones whom you lost because of this curse.
Just go and meet the Demon Lord Rem Renold. He is the only one who can help u. ( Looking towards the sky it says) Oh dear, looks like my time is up but we'll meet again for sure till then, fair well." Saying this the monster flew away leaving Celestia in state of confusion. Celestia- "What was that creature talking about? Cursed ? me. Was it really my fault for the loss of my loved ones.
Wait I just felt like I can move my finger". Celestia tried to lift her finger and it worked." I can finally move now and talk too". She tried to stand up but with difficulty as her legs felt little numb. The paralysis was actually caused by that monster. It was one of it's cheap trick in which Celestia was trapped.
"Hey wake up" a cold, manly and unfamiliar voice echoed in the surrounding. Celestia was looking here and there just to find the source from where it was coming from. Suddenly the ground beneath her started to drift apart. She started to run but wasn't fast enough as she had fallen into one of the faults ( Faults are cracks in the earth's crust along which there is movement. These can be massive the boundaries between the tectonic plates themselves).
Celestia- "The falling seemed endless as if there was no end but why am I not screaming and why don't I feel scared? I think this is the end for me. But I just wanna ask something, why me? why am I the only one with all these sufferings and only one to end up like this? Without even getting answers to my questions." Saying this to herself Celestia closed her tearful eyes and drifted towards darkness.
