Chapter 1

"Uhhhh," I groan reaching over to shut my alarm clock off. I lay in bed for a few more minutes before deciding to get ready. I trudge to my closet grabbing the clothes I was going to wear before going into the bathroom. Turning on the water I strip down and hop in the shower. Once I finished I got out and put on my clothes. After pulling my hair into a high ponytail and went down stairs and grabbed an apple.
"Hey mom," I said who was typing fiercely on her computer.
"Morning hon, ready for the last day of school," she said not looking up from her computer once.

"Yep I'm kind of scared though," I replied grabbing an apple and taking a bite.

"That's great honey."

"I know, and I was planing on jumping off a cliff after school," I say sarcastically.

"Good for you sweetie."

I sigh. I love my mom and I know she works hard to provide for me since dad left us years ago, but I wish she had more time for me.

I hear a car honk outside and take that as my cue to leave.

"Bye mom," I yelled running to the door. I walk up to my best friend, Abby's car and get inside. I look at Abby's outfit seeing that she was wearing black jeans and a shirt that said 'Perfection is my middle name'.

"Hey Ni," Abby said once I close my door. She looked over my outfit nodding approvingly before heading off to school. My outfit consisted of black leggings a purple and blue stripped shirt, and black combat boots. I pulled my purple hoody over my head and looked out the window. Time flew by fast I didn't realize we were at school until the car stopped.

"Are you excited?" Abby asked me as we walked up the school steps.

"Yea, but what I am going to do when school gets let out?" I question her.

"I don't know, but let's not worry about that now," she said dragging me into the school.
The school day flew by and I didn't realize it was it was the end of the day until people started shouted it when the final bell rang. I took my time packing up my things and heading towards my locker one final time.

"Hey Nicole," Abby yells running towards me. "You ready for summer."

"No not really there is nothing I can really do," I sighed. Why did school have to end?

"Well don't worry I will find something for us to do this summer," she smiled brightly.

"Okay then, lets get going," I say.

"Thanks," I say as Abby hands me my hot chocolate.

"I still don't understand why you can't drink coffee like a normal person," she replied.

"Well it's good that I'm not normal," I laughed "but seriously coffee is gross," I scrunch my nose in disgust.

"Oh come on its not that bad, here try some of mine," Abby says shoving her coffee in my face.

"No thanks I tried some of my moms when I was younger, and I thought I was going to die from disgust."

"Oh come on Nicole, don't you think you are being a little over dramatic?"

"Well now that I think about it........I don't think I'm being dramatic enough," I stated firmly.

"Sometimes I don't know why I'm even friends with you," she sighs.

"Oh come on, you know your life would be boring without me."

"Yeah," she laughs "you got me there."

"I know I'm the most awesomest in this world." I state proudly.

"Yes you're very unique," Abby laughs.

We exit the little café and start toward the park. I remember how my dad would take me here every weekend when I was a little kid. It was always fun.

"I'm bored," I whine

"You want some cheese with that whine," Abby retorts.

"No seriously, there is nothing to do," I shake my head sadly.

"Oh come on, there is plenty to do."

"Really, like what?" I cross my arms at her.

"Well I was going to wait till later but I guess we can do it now," Abby grins mischievously "Come on." She grabs my arm dragging me to a place unknown.

"What are we doing here?" I ask incredulous, frozen in my tracks upon seeing the building.

Abby dragged me into the building for a reason I'm not sure of.

"Nicole come on," Abby says tugging on   my arm.
