Nick didn't go along with the party idea and Charlie never felt more relieved when his birthday came round again.
He got home from the dreaded college classes back to his shared apartment with us amazing boyfriend. And what did he find there? Nothing. Not a single streamer not any decorations nothing. Charlie was both happy and disappointed.
"Did he forget. No Nick isn't like that, he would never forget. Especially after all that pleading. But why is there nothing?" These thoughts came flooding into his mind all at once until he was curled into a ball on the verge of tears.
Meanwhile Nick was making making a microwave burrito when he heard the door open and close. He was about to greet his boyfriend with a loving hug until he saw the he was curled into himself mumbling.
He dashed to the ground to comfort Charlie
"Can I hug you?" Nick asked with a gentle voice trying to sound as comforting as possible. Charlie nodded and Nick hugged him as tight as he could. They were just hugging each other and they stayed like that until Charlie was ready to talk.
"Wanna talk about it. I mean if you want it to wait till tomorrow and leave all the sadness till after your birthday that's alright. We could watch a movie!" Nick said with a reassuring smile.
"Yeah. That sounds nice" replied Charlie sniffling.
And then they cuddled and watched movies until midnight.
