Encanto, a small town in Colombia like any other. After being a traveler for nearly your whole life, each town seems the same by now. You never stay for more than a few days, but this time it feels different. Not cause of the miracle it got it's reputation from, but because of the family residing there.Hard footsteps are heard as you tiredly drag yourself and a particularly heavy saddle along with you. "Socorro!" you scream for what feels like the fiftieth time now. "Where could that Godforsaken mare run off to." You sign. Sweat drips off your face as the hot sun shines onto your heavily clothed figure. For the first time you're glad to be wearing a hat, you'd be sure to have gotten a heatstroke by now.
As you turn to take a small break from walking, your gaze lands upon a small town. Your eyes fill with hope as you take in the view of it, happy to see people for the first time in a while. You slide down a tree, your body giving in to the tiredness and completely drained from the scorching sun as you close your eyes for a minute. Not long after you open your eyes to a stinging sensation around your feet.
Damn it.
Small red scars scatter around your legs as a few blood drops fall onto the ground, not wearing the appropriate travel attire finally came to bite you in the ass. You open a bag attached to the saddle and pull out a small cloth which you tie around your legs.
This should be enough for now.
Determined to get into this town and ask about your missing horse, maybe buying some medical supplies while there, you slowly stand up, gripping onto the tree as to not fall and grabbing your saddle. You slowly make your way towards the town, trying your best not to drop anything on your way there.
Your frail body finally reaches the outskirts of the village and you drop your saddle. As soon as you dropped it your gaze fixates o onto a brown horse grazing on the pasture.
"You're going to be the death if me Socorro." You huff and pick up the saddle you just dropped, heading to your horse.
When you get closer, you see a scrawny older looking man near Socorro. "Oh is this your horse? I'm so sorry I may have taken it for a small ride," the man chuckles nervously "You see there was this whole situation with my niece and the whole family where our house broke and my niece ran away so I found your horse to go after her-"
The man pauses for a second before opening his mouth again "It's a long story really. I haven't seen you here before though, are you new here? If you weren't new here I would've seen you already. Then again, I haven't really seen the light of day in 10 years. You seem young. How old are you? Where are your parents? A child your age shouldn't be traveling alone. Am I talking too much? I feel like I'm talking too much." You chuckle at the man and reply. "No no it's ok, I'm Y/N. I'm a traveler, it's been a while since I've seen another person so this is nice." You smile at him, "I'm fifteen and I've been on foot for as long as I can remember. Don't really know if I even have any parents."
Bruno listens to your talking figure, taking in the newfound information with his hand resting on his chin.
"Well you can always stay here in Encanto! The people here are very ni-" you cut him off mid sentence. "I'm in Encanto? The miracle town?" Your eyes glow with anticipation as you wait for the man to answer your sudden question. "The one and only! I'm Bruno, one of the Madrigals." He happily exclaims reaching out a had which you gladly shake. "I'd never thought I'd stumble upon this town, it truly lives up to it's name. The town looks stunning!"
"Just wait until you see Casita and my family, you'll never see anything like it."
