New Year Special

I mean this was supposed to be a new year special but I kinda forgot that I own this acc 💀

Fireworks were shooting through the sky, painting the monotone sky with bright colours. Green, blue, orange, red and last of all, pink. The bright colours were like paint being splashed onto a black canvas, giving it life. Shouts and yells of joy could be heard by everyone. Some were making new year's resolutions, some were tapping away on their phone, wishing everyone a happy new year. The streets were filled with joy but were everyone happy? It could be seen that the answer would be a hard "yes" but the answer would beg to differ. Though everyone may be indicating their joy through actions or words, Xiao wasn't particularly partaking in the festive spirit.

He was just there, standing in the middle of the crowd, separated from both Ganyu and Zhongli. Those who used to be familiar with him were all long gone, not including those who can live long. Xiao has seen many of his close friends pass on and his lover too. That fact made him very reclusive. Many people who are not familiar with him would assume that he's just an emo person but maybe that has its reason too...

How did Xiao get to the festival? Considering his attitude of not wanting to participate in any form of the festival since his days in the old Liyue, it would be considered hard to drag him out anywhere. Miraculously, Zhongli has managed to convince Xiao to attend the festival in memory of his dead lover. Xiao was hesitant but agreed to it bringing him to his current situation. After All, Xiao would certainly like to celebrate this festival with the ghost of his lover.

Lost in the middle of nowhere with fireworks lighting up the sky, Xiao had no choice but to stay where he was until Zhongli or Ganyu came to find him. The colours exploding in the sky reminded him of those times with his precious lover y/n.Sadly those times were just a memory as y/n, unfortunately, had passed on. They believed in reincarnation but what about Xiao? He believes that reincarnation is just seen as a ray of hope for those who die but maybe it's true. Tonight may be the one to change it all...

A familiar mop of hair was what caught Xiao's attention. Silky h/c hair shone under the sky filled with colours. The colour of the hair was just like his dead lover. He adored those colours as it constantly brings him warmth. His breath hitched and he tentatively called out," Y/N...?"

The person who Xiao had called turned around, facing him with a bright smile. Tears started streaming down Xiao's face. It was the same person, the one that he loved and cherished all those years, that was finally back to him!

"Yes?"They smiled at him, arms spreading wide open, indicating for him to come closer for a hug. Xiao immediately plunged into their arms, encasing them in his arms as he cried his heart out. This was undoubtedly one of the best gifts that he has ever received ever since his lover had passed on. Many years were to come with both Y/N and Xiao together...

Happy New Year! It was a fun journey writing this book!
