dragons

mythical creatures with scales covering all over its body. some are small, some are large. some have wings, some don't. some have up to four legs while others have none.

now when you think about dragons, you would think, "they're not real and if they were, they would kill humans." however you would be wrong. humans and dragons have been living in peace together. actually, it was quite common to see one passing through your own backyard. you could even be swimming with one!

well, that was long time ago.

some time ago, humans started hunting down dragons out of the blue. why? it all started with a spoiled, greedy king who wanted every single thing to have his name on it. he wanted the title as the first person to kill a dragon. so being the determined asshole he is, he went to kill the dragon that was in the garden of the castle. however, it wasn't as easy as said. for one, the dragon was loved by all specimens in the castle. everyone adored the dragon that would care to the garden. so with the dragon missing, everyone would be down. two, the dragon was a female dragon. that being said, she was less aggressive towards the people, making them soft for her. it is known that female dragons are more on the friendly side. don't let that fool you as they're still capable to be aggressive, just not as much as males who are hotheaded shits. however, during nesting seasons, they're highly aggressive over their young ones.

the king knew this knowledge, but simply did not care. he even heard about the time a young male dragon crossed paths with a female and her young ones. it didn't end well for the young male as he had scratch marks all over his body, even a bite mark on his neck. but of course this was all a fairytale to him because he knows that the females are harmless. i mean look at the female dragon that practically lives in the garden. she lets everyone touch her.

boy was he wrong.

since he barely pays attention to the dragon, he failed to know that she had a nest of her own with five pale green eggs inside. in fact, it was nesting season. but of course he failed to have background knowledge about his own target. he even failed to notice how his servants stayed away from the dragon at this time of the season.

sensing someone coming near her nest, she stood up from her nest and placed herself in between the intruder and her eggs. she bares her teeth, growling as the intruder shows themselves. once face to face with the growling creature, the king can't help but smile. 'i'm going to be the first to kill a dragon!' he smugly grins at the creature.

with two hands on the handle of his precious gold sword, he swings back, causing the dragon to stop growling. she caught onto what the metal was going to do and quickly moved her head. once the metal made contact, the king let go of the handle of the sword. he was too stunned. his sword was actually in the dragon. a small smirk crept on his face as he observes how red liquid drips out of the neck. blood. he made it bleed! he's one step closer to get his title!

meanwhile for the dragon, she lets out a loud cry once the metal made contact with her skin, slicing through. whines filling throughout the castle as she shakes her head to get the sword out of her neck. clank. she stops.

drip. drip. drip. a metal smell filled her nose as she felt liquid gliding down her neck to the ground beneath her. different streams of the liquid flows its way down.

blood.

she sees red.

with a snap of her head, she glared at the king who stood there frozen. 'did this lizard glare at me?' he couldn't get over the fact that the dragon glared at him. the king. how dare this lizard glare at the all mighty king!

he was too busy with his ego that he didn't notice the dragon approach him with a welcoming open mouth. swiftly, she chomps on half of the king's body, up to his waist. teeth digging into the human's skin just as easy as the human blood flows onto her teeth. the grip on the body tightens as its being lifted off the ground. muffled screams could be heard from within her mouth.

with one toss up in the air, the whole body was caught in her mouth. and within a few bites and a sallow, the king was now gone.

off to the side was a guard who witness the horrific sight of his king being eaten. he failed to notice the wound on the dragon's neck and the nest near them. all his eyes were on was his king. why would he look at the dragon when his own king was being eaten?

"YOU STUPID LIZARD BITCH!! ARGHHHH!!" she snaps her head in the direction she hears footsteps marching towards her. she bares her, now, stained red teeth towards the guard as a warning.

the guard, being the stupid person he is, steps on the nest. he almost stepped on one of her eggs.

and that's what got him killed.

shaking her head side to side, blood flies all over. on the walls of the castle to the windows. not just the blood that flies to the window but an arm does too. hearing a thump on the window, the little princess decides to see what it is.

that was her mistake.

a loud scream could be heard throughout the whole castle. incomes the queen who gasps as soon as her eyes laid on the arm that was sticking to the window. she quick grabs her child and backs them away from the window. they watch from afar as the arm slowly slides down the window, leaving a bloody streak. the princess was silently crying in her mother's arms, a few sobs being audible.

"it's okay. don't worry, i'm here." the queens repeats until a dragon, stained in red, comes and grabs the arm off the window. without a care, she eats the arm right in front of the terrified couple. the princess starts screaming again and sobs loud. while the queen widened her eyes at the sight. never did she thought this would happen.

not in a million years.

soon, an army of guards were surrounding the dragon. none of them noticed the nest they were near. but the dragon sure noticed.

raging with anger and fear, she attacks the army, showing off her red teeth that held clothing in some place.

however, she was out numbered.

multiple arrows and spears were thrown at her, slicing her skin. each slice had a loud pitiful cry. one particular large spear was thrown directly at her heart. she tried to run away from it but the net, that was on her back, stopped her from her plan. piercing straight through her skin, directly in her heart, she falls with a roar in pain.

it stings.

it hurts.

she's tired.

body slowing becoming stiff. blood slowing seeping through, staining the grass beneath. breathing slowing down. heart slowly beats out more blood. eyes slowing closing.

last thing she saw was her eggs being stomped on.

stories about dragons have been completed changed. they were then feared upon. ever since, humans thought they were nasty beasts that would only want your blood. they kill on sight. their image was ruined just by one dragon protecting her own nest.

once the word was out, the dragon hunt began. the queen of the earth element was the first dragon to be killed by humans. with her dead, the royal blood of earth had ended, leaving the future earth dragons no king nor queen. with no royal blood alive, the earth dragons became more wild and aggressive. even more anxious.

as years passed, humans hunted down dragons until there was only two left.

"the king of the fire element and

the king of the water element."
