The front door squeaked as they opened and Jihoon heard someone step in.

"Baby? Are you home already?"
"Yeah." was the only answer he got.

He rushed outside the kitchen to the hall. And there he saw his boyfriend, taking his shoes off. Jihoon ran to him and hugged him tightly. The boy hugged him back.

"Why didn't you tell me you're arriving today?"
"I wanted to surprise you."
"Did something happen?"
"No, why? Should something happen?"
"No, I just... you seem sad... like something's bothering you. You keep answering in a sad tone."
"It's nothing."
"No it's not."

Yes, that's right, it's not. Samuel thought.

"I don't wanna talk about it..."
"But baby at first you say 'yeah' completely uninterested and then-"
"Shush. Let's talk about something else." I don't want to hurt you like the thing hurt me...

"Okay... Did you watch Ruby?" So you do want to be hurt.
"Sure."
"Did you like it?"
"Kinda. You just forgot to mention one thing..."
"Huh? What thing?"
"The girl you're singing about!"

Samuel begun to cry as he finished the sentence and headed to his room.

Jihoon was suddenly alone, shocked by what he just heard. He felt like he couldn't move. He felt like frozen.

After a few seconds of standing there, his body finally decided to listen to him and ran up the stairs. He headed right into Samuel's room. Trying to open the door was no use, the room was locked.

Jihoon leaned to the door and heard quiet sobs. That hurt him inside. A lot.

"Baby! I know you're there and you know I won't leave until you open the door!"
"Leave me alone! Go and be with your girl!!"
"I don't have one.
"Then who are you singing about?! It's clearly a girl!! You even say it there! 'Girl you make me look like a beautiful jewel', 'girl I knew that this would happen from the start', 'she got the ruby' and the girl's laugh at the end!!"

So you remember the lyrics, huh? My silly baby. I didn't want to hurt you...

"Let me in and I'll-"
"No. Get out."
"Let me inside and I'll explain."

All he heard was silence mixed with his boyfriend crying quietly inside his room. Hurt by him. What have I done?

"Samuel please. You know I can't stand it when I see you crying."
"You don't have to see me at all. We can just break up."
"No, we can't. Let me inside."
"Never!"
"Jagiya! Please! I don't want you to cry. I didn't want to hurt you."
"Don't call me that!!"

Jihoon sighed silently.

"Samuel, please."
"I. Said. No!"
"Sam-"
"Why should I even let you inside? So that you can make fun of me? So that you can hurt me more? Sure, go ahead."

His steps were getting closer as he approached the door. Jihoon heard unlocking and then the door opened and the other boy stood there, crying.

He went to him and hugged him, but the boy got away from the hug.

"Go ahead, let me cry more. That's what I deserve after all. I was too naive..."
"What do you mean? I love yo-"
"I wish I could trust you like I did before Ruby."
"Sammy, let me explain. At first I came up with the lyrics having there 'boy', 'he' and your laugh at the end, but when I went to Bumzu if I could keep it like that, he said that he's really sorry, but I have to remake the lyrics. The song was about you. And it still is. The 'ruby' is my heart. It's a song about you getting my heart. I just had to remake it to 'girl' and stuff. I didn't want to do it, but I had to. For the public."

Samuel seemed thinking and Jihoon wasn't sure what to think at that point. Are we good? Are you arguing with yourself whether to believe me or not? Do you think I'm lying?

"Why should I trust you?"
"First of all, the 'ruby lips'. That's a reference to the color of your lips. Then the 'he got the ruby' which means 'he got my heart'-"
"She."
"Yes, that's what the song says. Anyways, 'I see myself in ya' I do. 'Every time I look at you, I keep turning red', that's what members suggested. It wasn't my plan..."
"Who suggested it?"
"Wonwoo. That stalker! Well 'It blows my mind how you did this to me with all of your shine' that's about your smile. I told you already that it looks like you shine, when you smile, didn't I?"

He nodded.

"Well the whole lyrics is about you. If you paid attention, few of these lines would seem familiar to you. And you would see the connection to you in the other ones as well."
"Okay, let's say I believe you. Is there any other way you could prove it?"
"There is just one." Jihoon said as he smirked.

Samuel was kind of confused and when he saw Jihoon get closer, something kept telling him to go back. However he couldn't. He couldn't get his legs to move.

"Wha-What exactly is it?"
"You'll see." he said, still getting closer.

Each step he made, made Samuel worry . Is he mentally sick? Will he kill me to get my "ruby"? What even am I thinking about?!

Jihoon's face was now only centimetres away from his. Once Samuel looked into his eyes, he knew what was going on. Jihoon was looking at his lips. Then the boy looked into his eyes for a second and kissed him.

After the kiss, Samuel looked at the floor shyly with a big smile. Jihoon looked at the floor too, but had a proud smile on his face.

Just seconds later, Samuel looked back at Jihoon with serious face. The other boy looked at him too, not being sure about what happened. Should have I not done it?

"Now your words are more trustworthy..."
"Huh? What do you mean trustworthy?! I literally- ugh!"
"Calm down, I was just joking. Even though I'm still not so sure if I should believe you or not."
"What makes you think that you shouldn't?"
"I don't know... I just feel that way."
"What if I make you think otherwise?"
"How?"
"I don't know... Another kiss?"
"That might work." He smiled.
"Okay, close your eyes."

Samuel did what he was told to. Suddenly he heard Jihoon's steps getting away from him. Are you being dramatic?

After he heard the door quickly open and close, he opened his eyes. Jihoon was gone. Samuel didn't know what to think about it. He was trying to figure out what happened.

It took him about a minute to realise that his boyfriend isn't coming back. Not now.

"Did you just leave me here??!" He screamed for the other one to hear.
"Yup!"
"Come here!" Samuel screamed jokingly as he immediately went to their living room. He saw there Jihoon, slightly terrified.

"What're you looking at?! I'm going to kill you!"

Before Jihoon even got to stand up, the other boy was hugging him tight already.

"Don't do that to me ever again."
"Don't worry, I won't... Now close your eyes."
"Are you serious?!"
