Chapter One-Neighbors

"Mooooooooom" I yelled like a maniac rushing down the white creaky steps almost tripping and landing on my face. "Where are you?" I yelled through the what seemed to be empty house. After searching the gigantic building over again I finally found my parents on the patio outside drinking some tea and reading the morning papers while dad was on his phone.

"There you are" I laughed as I wiped a bead of sweat off my forehead. My brown hair was pulled into a half and half ponytail keeping only part of my hair up. It was my usual look in the summertime because it was cute , fast, and easy. Today I had to rush because my friend texted me and said we going to the movies and she was picking me up at 11am. And it was 10:50 now with 10 minutes to spare. When I woke up at 10:30 I threw on short jean shorts and a floral lace tank top and matching lace toms which completed the outfit. I did a really quick cat eye and ran down the steps searching frantically for my mom.

"Yes honey?" She laughed as she looked up from the paper. She still reads the paper? Can't you like look at it on your phone? I laughed at myself for how dumb I sound. "Uhm im going to the movies with Kylie if that's okay?" I smiled as I ran over to her and kissed her cheek. She nodded signaling that it was fine. "But please take Tiger inside while your at it, he keeps running over trying to see the new neighbors." She laughed as she pointed to our demented dog who kept running around in circles beside the house next
to us.

"Oh yeah sur- Wait? neighbors?" I stopped mid sentence and looked at the house next door to us which has been deserted for years. We live in the quiet part of town on a back road where almost no one can find, there's only two houses. Ours and the empty, now taken one beside the one my family lives in. My mom nodded as she glanced back over to the house next door. I followed her gaze as saw dozens of workers carrying big boxes into the identical house.

"I never thought that one day we would get neighbors" my dad chuckled while looking up from his phone. I nodded agreeing with what he said. I've lived here all my life, 16 years, and never once had neighbors. But whatever, there's nothing we can do about it. I took out my pink IPhone and touched the home button immediately turning it on.

It read and I really had to go. Again I kissed my mom and then my dad and called tiger , my dog inside. As I opened up the screen door , the Labrador quickly followed at my heels. "Good boy" I said in a baby voice and handed him a treat out of his treat bowl. Bye Tiger , be good" I laughed as I hurried out the door and made it right on time as Kylie pulled up in her blue convertible.

"Hey Babe!" Don't think we're gay. We're BestFriends we call each other weird shit all the time, if we didn't we wouldn't even be considered best friends. "Let's go!" She smiled as she opened the passenger door for me to get in. Quickly I crawled in and we took off for the movies. Saturday mornings are usually packed with people , don't ask me why I think it's just because that's where everyone hangs out.

"Damn who is that kid" Kylie snapped me out of my day dream and stopped the car for a second. She pointed to the house next to us and her finger led to a certain boy around our age carrying a box into the house. He had on a cut off shirt showing off his muscular arms , basketball shorts, Jordan's , and a black beanie covering most of his brown hair. The only thing is , it looked like that his face was carved by God. Literally.

"What a hottie with a body" Kylie blurted loud enough for everyone in a miles radius to hear. Quickly the boy looked up and made eye contact. "Kylie
Go!" I laughed so hard I had to hold my stomach. Quickly she sped off down the road towards the main highway. "Oh..my.. God" I giggled as I kept replaying the sene in my head."did that really just happen" I laughed as Kylies
Face was full out red like a tomato. "Looks like I'll be coming over everyday" she winked to me , just realizing that goddess is going to my one and only neighbor.
