tw: slight mention of past abuse.

In order to tell Alexa's villain story, you'll have to know where she came from. You'll have to know where it started, where she developed. Alexa Castillo, daughter of Randy and Deena Castillo, younger sister of Ty Castillo. She grew up in west of Texas, living in a small apartment filled with creepy land lords and arguments she could never understand until she grew older. She was raised to believe the pain her father would inflict on her was normal, never truly see how wrong it was until middle school when they showed a video about parental abuse at school.

When Ty turned twenty-two, Alexa fourteen, he moved to The Valley. He took her with him, in the middle of the night, fleeing Texas and driving to the east coast to a two bedroom apartment. Ty wasn't the best brother, he was an asshole and they never bonded perfectly due to their large age gap. But, he still saved her, he still loved her and provided her with the life she needed. Despite being a jackass about it a lot of the time. Deena would come and go, staying with the kids sometimes, then she'd leave and run back to their dad the second he wanted her back.

It wasn't her fault, she'd been stuck in that sort of relationship every since high school and wasn't wired to understand what was wrong, and now with the kids gone, there wasn't much she could do. Ty was stuck to raise Alexa, his fourteen year old sister who was just getting her period and developing hormones she needed her mother for. But, she faced that alone, and it turned out rather okay. Especially as she got older, she learned and understood the reality and accepted it.

It got easier to not think so much into it when she met her first boyfriend, and he was her entire universe until Cobra Kai opened. Johnny Lawrence saw something in her, saw an underlining anger that was drowning inside of her, reaching to the surface in hopes of someone grasping its hand and yanking it to the open world. He pulled that hand, and Alexa had finally been able to express herself in all that balled up anger she had, taking it out in the form of karate, becoming one of his best fighters.

Cobra Kai changed her, but she was greatful. She was glad she wasn't stuck on the endless loop of being shy, of being trapped in a shell that was so lonely and boring. She finally had more the one friend, she felt like she belonged and was truly safe somewhere. Even if she lost her boyfriend in the long run, she was more loyal to Cobra Kai then she could be to anyone or anything else. She thought Johnny Lawrence was her savior, she thought he knew her better then anyone else and was the parental guidance she longed for.

That was before Alexa met Sensei Kreese.

He was different. Johnny cared for Alexa, but he didn't listen to her like Kreese had. Johnny taught her how to fight, but he didn't teach her how to handle her inner demons and underlining pain. Kreese did. Kreese did so much for Alexa, he showed up for her when no one else did, when Johnny didn't. He saw her so clearly and taught her things she wouldn't have lasted without. Kreese was what was missing in her heart, he was the person she needed.

Alexa didn't realize she latched onto him so hard because he reminded her of her biological father.

When Miguel got hurt and Kreese turned the kids against Johnny, Alexa was one of those kids. She fought alongside Kreese forever, she couldn't leave him, she couldn't leave Tory or anyone else. Alexa lost people along the way, people she loved and cared for, but she had to take that risk. She knew what was at stake, she knew that she was an extremely strong fighter that got in her head badly, that struggled with her emotions in the worst way.

That's exactly why she needed Sensei Kreese.

When Robby Keene shows up, his head being pressed against the mirror by her own hand, an energy sparked between the two. A type of energy that was hard to explain, that was hard to grasp, even for the two of them. All Alexa knew was that letting him in was a horrible idea, because in the long run, she needed him more then she thought she would. And not just for the sake of him helping her pass chemistry in order to graduate.
