Chapter 4

'Due to an unexpected event at the pizza plex, the building has been closed down early for the night. Everyone has been evacuated and the night shift workers will take over. All day shift workers must go home for today. Enjoy the rest of your night everyone.'
Lia read the message over and over again.

'That must mean that (y/n) has left. Hopefully they are in good hands.' And with that Lia packed her things and left, her boss wouldn't be happy if she stayed after specifically telling the day shift workers to go home..

(Y/n) POV (earlier):

It's been a while and Sun was still hugging you in the middle of the daycare while you where looking for a way out, an escape if you will, from the enthusiastic, clingy robot. Coincidentally the lights when out and in sync, sun let you go and kids started crying and running out of the daycare frantically trying to find their parents.

You of course where scared but you remembered that Lia told you to stay in the daycare to wait for your mum or her to come get you. So you stayed put.

You heard what sounded like a cry of pain from behind you but as soon as you tried to move you felt a hand grab your wrist.

"Sunshine.. don't.. leave me.." sun sounded in pain. You couldn't help but feel bad for him.

"Are you ok sunny? Do you need help?" (Y/n) managed to choke out those few words

(Y/n) reached out to where suns arm that was currently grabbing your wrist was coming from. After a moment of you trying to find the animatronic in the dark, you felt something solid under your finger tips.

"Sun?" Silence. At this point you where of course scared for the daycare attendants safety.

a few moments later another arm grabbed you and pulled you into a tight hug. For some reason you felt really tired. You let out a small yawn.

"Sleep" was the last thing you heard from a raspy sounding voice before you couldn't fight the need to sleep anymore.

Vanessa (night security) POV:

Vanessa was told by their boss that someone called claiming that there could be a child in the day care. What was her name again? Lia? She works day shift behind a counter doing god knows what. That doesn't matter right now anyways. Vanessa was on her way to check before going back to her normal routine as a night guard. She can't have a delinquent kid running around too long or the boss said they'd fire her.

'Of course the lights are still out.. it hasn't been long enough for electricians to show up I guess.' She mentally eye rolled. 'At least the doors still open. Thank god' Vanessa went through a slow sliding door that seemed to take a while to open.

'Damn these doors..' she mentally scoffed 'why do they have to be so damn slow.'

On the other side of the door she saw the daycares waiting area for the parents. At the back of the pickup/waiting area, closest to the daycare, was a slide with a sign above that states 'slide into fun!' That's the main entrance that kids use. A lot of kids say that's their favourite part.

'Cute.' With that Vanessa went down the stairs as she didn't have time to waste by getting stuck in a slide. She was now in front of the big doors gripping onto her flashlight. She never really liked talking to moon. He seemed to have a screw loose. One wrong move and he'll completely unhinge. He's so unpredictable sometimes. Not to mention his smile, somehow that just made him even more creepy. It was just so.. unnatural.

She breathed in and sighed. Ready. She walked through the tall castle like door.

"Kiiiid? Are you here?" There was Silence. "Kid?" Vanessa took a few steps in and shined her flashlight around the play structures.

'Maybe there're not here. Guess I'll go after one more check. What was there name again?'

"(Y/n) are you here? Helloooo?" Vanessa sighed.

'Guess not.' Before she turned to leave she was stopped by the voice that she recognised as moons. She heard him giggle before saying

"Shh. It's rude to wake someone while they're trying to sleep you know.." his voice was low and raspy but Vanessa seemed to think that there was something hidden in his tone.

'So the child is actually here.. this kid better not be too much of a hassle. Sounds like moons voice is coming from his stage/room.. I should go check.'

Vanessa walked back out of the daycare to go through the daycare attendants passage to his room behind that pirate poster in the theatre/cinema. She looks at the hallway that leads to the attendants room hesitantly. 'Creepy' she thought as she took a few steps forward.

She reached for the door stopping as her hand touched the handle, Turning it ever so slightly. There was nothing, well more specifically, it was too dark to see anything. Only the small beam from the company flashlight lighting up small portions of the room.

His room was pretty messy, weather it be a small play toy or a staff robot part, for the robot that feels the need to clean every tiny mess in the daycare. Vanessa ignored the small clutter and continued searching the room with her flashlight. 'Hmm no kid in sight.'

She however noticed a small hole in the wall, acting as a sort of secret cubby room. Just as she went closer to the hole in the wall, she saw a glowing red pair of eyes staring through her soul.

"Naughty naughty.. it's rude to disturb the sleeping.." moon sounded almost.. threatening?

"Yeah well." Vanessa tried to think of a nice way to say what was next. "The child needs to go home." She couldn't think of anything so she just went straight forward. "To their parents."

"No." Moon got defensive. "(Y/n) stays here. They're mine. They're staying." He was getting annoyed with the security guard now.

"Moon. They can't stay. They have a home." Vanessa didn't think about what she was saying. She knew being this forward wasn't going to work. She needed back up.

"Their home is here now. With me and sun." He definitely wouldn't be smiling if it wasn't for his smile that never fades.

Moon stayed silent after that. He didn't want the night guard to make any moves. So instead, He was thinking. Thinking about all the ways he could get rid of the lady. She tried to look past moon the get a peek of a child but the way he was positioned, he was blocking her view from the sleeping child.

'How annoying...' she mentally groaned to herself

Vanessa sighed. "Look, mo-" she was cut off by her phone ringing. Loudly. The sudden noise made Vanessa jump.

'Damn' she hated how she got surprised by a damn phone. Moon looked behind him to check that you where still sleeping. You looked so cute while sleeping after all. He'd hate if anyone were to disturb you rest, so you aren't too tired when you wake up. He wanted you to always be happy and being tired would make that less likely.

Meanwhile Vanessa picked her phone up from out of her pocket and looked at the caller ID.

She mentally sighed because she was dreading of answering and slid her finger to answer the call and put the phone up to her ear.

"Hello?"
