Chapter 14- Second Task

Harry's Pov:

Me, Draco and Yamino where in the library trying to resurch of all creatures of the Black Lake and the properties of fresh water merpeople.

"Oh thank Merlin I don't have to worry about the Giant Squid," I speak out after reading about three books about the Black Lake creatures that weren't the merpeople. "So the deep sea dogs and the mers you will have to fight. Lovely," Draco says with every sarcasm. "I found a spell that will be useful Master Harry. You can tranfigure your swim bottoms to a salt-water mer fin. It will practically put ur legs in a bottomus like pouch and will move with ur instinct when worn. Here," he tells me as he shows me the page.

"Hate to break up the skull session. Professor McGonagall wants you in her office," Moody tells us. I start to get up but he stops me. "Not you, Potter, Just Mr. Ryusuke," he spoke. "But, sir, the second task is only hours away, and-" Draco fakes stressed. We knew he was gathering Yamino for the task. "Exactly. Presumably Potter is well prepared by now, and could do with a good night's sleep. Now help him put his books away. Mr. Ryusuke, follow me," he tells us. Yamino ruffles my hair as he leaves to follow Moody. When we where sure Moody was gone we sighed in relief. "Bloody Merlin, they actually picked him. For a sec I thought they would pick Weasel," Draco says Tiredly. "Help me figure out this spell, then we'll call it a night," I asked him.

It was getting time for the task to start. Me and Draco where walking to the boats. "You're sure about this, Harilaos?" Draco asked me worried. "Absolutely," I replied. "And that will work for an hour?" He gestures to the breather that is in my zip pocket. I was in a Baskilisk hide two-peice wet suit. "That and longer due to the extra charms on it," I tell him. "I just wanted to make sure," Draco replied as we get in the boats.

"Welcome to the second task. Last night, something was stolen from each of our champions. A treasure of sorts. These four treasures, one for each champion, now lie on the bottom of the Black Lake. In order to win, each champion need only find their treasure and return to the surface. Simple enough, except for this: they will have one hour to do so, and one hour only," Dumbledoor announces. During his announcement, I get my wand and the breather in each hand. "After that, they'll be on their own. No magic will save them," Dumbledoor continued. "You remember the spells?" Draco asked behind me. I nodded and shift my body to an angle. "You may begin at the sound of the cannon," Dumbledoor finished. The cannon fired.

Thanks to the planing and a bit of practice, I went imeadilty to work with the spells. I first cast a spell to shoot me into the air. While I was air-born, I then did the fin spell and put the breather into my mouth. I end up diving into the water. Once in the water I mentally did the locator spell to point me witch way to swim and started heading out. When I heard the singing, I knew I was close. Then a mer almost practically ran into me.

Draco's Pov:

I saw Fluer come up for air. Dumbledoor ended up announcing it, "The Beauxbatons champion Miss Delacour has unfortunately been forced to retire, so she will take no further part in this task." Fleur was crying trying to get back in. I came up to her. "Hey calm down, Harilaos will get her out. We got a plan. We plained Yamino to get taken for this reason. It'll be okay," I whispered to her to calm her down. Thankfully it works. I checked my watch. 'Hurry Harry,' I thought.

Harry's Pov:

I decided to follow the mer. Suprisingly she lead me right to them. All the mer guarding were female. Once I get closer they started to surround me. I take a quick look around. There was to many to take on. Yamino was the farthest on the left. Right as I cast a bubble head charm on Yamino, Cedric came up to get Cho. Cedric looks at me and taps his watch. I nod and went to untie Yamino as He started to get his barrings. As I get to Yamino's side to check on him, Krum comes in with the head of a shark and gets Hermione. I look at Yamino and he nods. His eyes glow blue with snake like pupils. It was kind of like Sirius transformation, but a hell of a lot faster. The sea creatures imeadilty swam away in fear. He was bigger than the Baskilisk that I had to kill. I sent a cutting curse to the girls rope. Yamino then pushes the girl up as I swam besides his head.

Draco's Pov:

The first to come up was Cedric and Cho. And just as Krum and Hermione come up for air, I see something speeding towards us in the air. "Fleur! Help me catch," I called out to her. With her help we caught Harry, Yamino, and Gabrielle. Harry spit out the breather and was panting. "How is she?" Yamino asked. "She is with her sister Fleur," I told him.

Loki and a Man I don't quite remember rushed over. Loki looked pissed. "Harilaos this is Mr. Delacour. He's the girls father," Loki introduces calmly even though he doesn't look it. Harry canceled the spell on the suit and shook his hand. "Good to meet more of Draco's family Sir. I hope your youngest will be alright," Harry tells him. They shake hands. "Harry!" We hear Dumbledoor call. Dumbledoor got the end of three glares which made him step back. "How stupid can you people be!" I hear Yamino, Mr. Delacour, and Lord Loki say at the same time. All the cheers stopped. "I'm half tempted to act on the job and have all the people with this idea arrested in the name of almost starting a war! If it weren't for the children's preplaining, she could have died! You could of killed a child who didn't even try to sign up! If my son didn't already know your idiocy this could have gone much worse! And did you forget my son is forced into the tournament! I could have lost my heir, my son! The third task better only, and I do mean ONLY have the participants in this, or so help me You will see why I have my family name. Am I understood!" Loki chewed them out. Dumbledoor, Mr. Crouch, and Fudge paled.

Harry's Pov:

"I want all the judges over here now!" Dumbledoor says after he snaps out of it. Loki gave them a right chewing. Fleur came over to me, "You saved her, even though she wasn't yours to save. My little sister. Thank you," she tells me and kisses each cheek. She then goes to Yamino, "And you! You helped." "Of course Miss Delacour, and Draco helped as well with the planing. I was lucky Master Loki suggested they take me as a Hostage. Let's say, I'm very good at moving around in water," he tells her and smiles. Fleur kisses both his cheeks as well.

"Attention!" Dumbledoor trys. He then does a sonus charm. "Attention! The winner is, Mr. Diggory. Who showed innate command of the Bubble-Head Charm. However, seeing as Mr. Potter would have finished first had it not been for his determination to rescue not only Mr. Ryusuke, but the others as well, we've agreed to award him second place. For outstanding moral fiber!" Dumbledoor tells. "More like actually having a brain unlike the people of judges and over seerers of this game," mumbled Draco. Loki and Yamino nodded.

We were getting off the docks and I was still cold. Loki draped his coat over me. "Congratulations, Potter. A fine achievement," called out Mr. Crouch. "What do we owe this pleasure Mr. Crouch?" Loki asked "I'm sorry we haven't spoken. After all, your story is one I've heard so many times. Quite remarkable, really. Tragic, of course; to lose one's family. Never-" Mr. Crouch trys but Loki stop him. "Shut up before I get you fired from the ministry completely. I'm in no mood. Now good day," he tells him and we leave.

Later Hagrid tried to invite me with Granger and Weasel to the forset walk. They went of course. I didn't. Yamino, Loki and I went to Noragami's store to eat to celebrate. I ended up falling asleep against Loki from eating to much.
