"Excuse me," Headmistress Mcgonagall calls from the door, interrupting my second year class, "if I could have a word?"
I close the door silently behind me and when I turn, I groan internally, "how did they convince you?"
"They are actually quite good at potions." Mcgonagall replies, making George and Fred smirk on either side of her.
"I know that, but they're going to cause so much trouble." I'm a little embarrassed about my whining, but I know Mcgonagall understands.
"They promised to behave or they'd be banned from the grounds." I smirk at them and see just a bit of worry flash through their eyes.
"Fine." I say, opening the door and gesturing them inside.
I hear multiple gasps of excitement and roll my eyes, "as many of you know, this is Fred and George Weasley," I start in a maybe slightly irritated manner, "they will unfortunately be joining us today."
"I don't know about you guys, but-" Fred starts and I grimace in anticipation.
"I think the old potions master was hotter." The class laughs and I raise an eyebrow at the two in warning.
"Okay," I sigh out, "get to work, everybody knows what you are doing correct?"
They all disperse and I turn to the twins with a glare, "why?"
"We haven't seen you enough lately." They pout identically, "we promise we'll be good." George smiles and they look at the board to see the potion.
I watch them look at eachother with a smirk and know they are no doubt remembering the prank that started it all.
September, fourth year
"Who did it?" My face twists up in anger as my friend from hufflepuff cries because of her green hair and skin.
"The Weasley Twins, they said because I'm fraternizing with the enemy."
Later that night, sitting crisscross on my bedroom floor, I began brewing a swelling potion.
After it fermented, I placed it in my bag. It was a few days later and the Gryffindor quidditch team was practicing out on the pitch.
Using the levitation charm, I move a vile above each of their heads and drip some on each.
The twins heads grow two times there original size and the whole team flies down to the ground. I step in front of them, "bighead," I spit, "don't mess with my friends." I glare and walk away.
Later in the hospital wing:
"That was a good prank." Fred nods approvingly, looking at his brother.
"Yes, it was." George smirks.
-------
George and Fred remain as behaved as they can from then on, helping the students and making them laugh. I smile just a little from my desk, before getting up to begin grades that will be finished when the potions have been complete.
"The colors a little off." I begin, explaining why it probably turned out this way. "Not the right consistency." I continue to another student. "This is all wrong, you may need to redo this if you want a good grade."
After the class, George came over and leaned back on my desk, looking down at me. "You are as strict as Snape was." He says quietly with a little amused smirk on his face.
I smile a bit too, "because I realized with potions you need to be strict. If the potion is wrong, it could be dangerous."
George nods, "maybe, or really awesome."
I roll my eyes, "okay, George." I stand up and start picking up stuff the students thought was a good idea not to take care of. He tugs my hand to turn me to him, I reluctantly do so, "George-"
"Y/N," he slinks his arms around me with a smirk and I shoot him a warning look, "wanna go to the Chudley Cannon V. Magpies quidditch match with me next saturday?" He smirks. I twist my lips against a smile, he knows me too well.
"Obviously." I say and the grin can't be contained.
George pulls me a little closer, "that's what I thought." He grins.
I roll my eyes, but wrap my arms around him for a quick, tight hug. "Whatever." I say, pulling away.
-----------
I bounce up and down, shoving my hands deeper in my coat pockets. George, Fred, Lee, and I huddle together in the stands waiting for the match to begin. George wraps his arms around me, "George," I groan, shrugging him off.
"You're cold!" He drags out in response, grinning.
Lee smirks, "shes cold?!" He takes my hand and pulls me between him and Fred and they sandwich me in a hug. I laugh at George's scrunched up nose.
"Aw Georgie, are you cold too?" Fred and Lee leave me to sandwich George. I laugh as they start wrestling and hitting eachother.
When they finish, George gently tugs me back next to him. He takes my hands in his and rubs them, warming them. The match starts and I can catch most of it, but I can't see a lot. I pout and George bends down, tugging at my hand. I sigh and get on his back, shoving my hands in the neck of his jacket.
----------
"That was awesome!" I screech, still on George's back as we are leaving. I hug him tightly and smush our faces together, "thank you, thank you, thank you!" The others laugh, but George gently squeezes where he's holding me up in response.
"You guys want to go get some pizza?" Lee questions, hopping around, his hyperactive energy heightened from the excitement.
We find ourselves in George and Fred's apartment above their shop in a circle eating and playing exploding snap. "I really wonder if I was that crazy as an eleven year old." I mumble, speaking of the first years.
"You weren't-" George begins.
And Fred continues for him, "but we were."
"I know," I roll my eyes, thinking back.
Lee grins, "I never thought we'd even wear you down to this point, Y/N/N." He jokes.
I smile slightly, "you guys are persistent."
"We keep your life exciting." George smiles, twisting my ring on my finger.
