Milk Tea with Boba (Brown sugar option available)

Milk Tea: 15 minutes

Boba: 45-50 minutes

Total time: 1-1 hour and 5 minutes

Ingredients:

• 1 cup uncooked tapioca pearls

• ½ cup brown sugar (optional)

• 1 quart milk

• 4 tea bags of your choice (green, black, or oolong recommended)

• ¼ cup sugar

Instructions:

1.) In a large pot, add 10 cups of water and boil on high heat. Once boiling, add the boba and leave it for 45-50 minutes

2.) In a medium saucepan, simmer the milk on medium-low. Once simmering, add the tea bags and sugar. Let steep for at least 10 minutes. When done steeping, let cool.

3.) Once the boba is done boiling, let the pearls sit in an ice bath.

4.) To assemble, add ¼ cup of boba to a glass. Fill the glass with ice and add 1 cup of milk tea to the glass. stir and enjoy.

5.) For brown sugar milk tea, put the brown sugar and boba in a small saucepan. On medium heat, melt the sugar using the water from the boba, creating a syrup. Stir to avoid burning. When it looks somewhat thick and syrupy, turn the fire off.

6.) To assemble, add the boba with syrup to a cup and smear the boba and syrup along the sides. Fill the cup with ice and add milk. Stir and enjoy.
