Chapter 9: "Games"

It's November 1st, 2024.

Anna and Sam wake up at almost 11 am because of the tough night they had.

Their parents will prepare breakfast.

While they start cooking, Anna sneaks in the attic room real quick to check on Michael.

She opens the door quietly with the keys and takes a peak. She sees Michael still on his sleeping bag, resting.

She raises her hand by the door, waving at him.

He waves back in complete silence.

Anna then gives him a thumbs, knowing that he's alright.

She then closes the door again.

Then, she gets a jumpscare from Sam.

-Goddammit! You scared me!- She screamed so aggressively.

-I'm sorry to bother but... is he okay in there?- He asks

-Yes, he's fine. He's just chilling in there-

-We better get down cuz mom and dad made breakfast-

-Alright. But we have to keep an eye on him, okay?-

-When are we gonna tell 'em?-

Anna takes a deep pause.

-I don't know, Sam... but we must show them that he's not a monster, but a man who needs help... we can't leave him like this- She said, with a serious face.

-You're right. I guess we should prove them that he's just a misunderstood person. C'mon, we should go down and eat!-

A while later, during breakfast, the family are all together in the same table.

They start a conversation.

-Morning, dad. How's the party last night?- Anna asks dad.

-It was great. The music was awesome, the costumes were crazy, and so as the food. But when we drove on our way home, we saw something weird on the road- He responded.

-What was it?-

-Well... we saw police cars in front of an old abandoned subway station-

Anna and Sam stay silent for a moment.

-What is it?- He asks

-No, nothing. I just thought it's a weird discovery...- Anna responded, nervously.

-Well... we read on the news this morning that another attack occurred down the abandoned subway station. They described the exact same thing like the one from Glendale. It seems that the killer is close... looks like we'll have to be cautious- Mom said while drinking her coffee.

-Dang... I mean... that's terrible...- Anna responded, still nervously.

-I know, right?- Dad said.

Dad shows them the news report on his phone.

The reporter said everything they found in the bloody crime scene.

Here's what they said.

Last night, a young man called us for the report of another attack down an abandoned subway station in Beverly Hills. He told us his story about how it happened. He said that while he was walking, a man tried to rob him and brought him into the subway station, but then he described how he survived. He described a monstrous creature, with white eyes and a ghoulish appearance, wearing a pearl jacket and black long hair. It's the exact same creature's description like from Glendale, where the first attack occurred. The police found the remaining clothing by the entrance of the hallway, a grey hoodie and accessories like sunglasses, a face mask, latex gloves, and a cap hat. Locals around Hollywood found out about the clothing and told us that they saw someone wearing the same hoodie with the accessories, and they suspected that he could be the suspect. They described him being oddly quiet, but kind. But now, the mystery goes on. The infamous cannibal is now close, so you better lock your doors. If another attack occurs, please call the authorities...
