~ I can see your eyes staring into mine,
But it's a battlefield and you're on the other side.
You can throw your words, sharper than a knife,
And leave me cold in another house on fire.~I stood there, looking around me.
Seeing glass shattered over the floor...
The table flipped...
The hole in the wall...
The torn up picture...
Hearing his voice echo through my mind.
"At least I'm not a fat fucking bitch!."
Remembering back to a few minutes ago, his green eyes staring into my blue ones.My palms are sweaty due to the fighting, breath hitched and tears slowly rolling down my cheeks, heart breaking each step I take.
I goto the kitchen, grabbing a dustpan and brush, making my way back to the battle field, sweeping the glass into the dust pan, placing it into a small bucket.
I picked up the now quartered frame also placing it into the bucket.
I slowly retrieved the pieces of the picture.
It was a picture of us on our first anniversary three years ago.
I put the pieces into the bucket, then went outside, emptying it into the trash.
I looked around and saw Suzanne our neighbour standing there awkwardly watering her garden.. she heard it.. all of it.
I walked back inside, closing the front door.
I went to the basement grabbing the plaster and white paint to fix the wall. after about ten minutes the wall was fixed and painted, everything back in the basement.I sat down on the lounge, despair surrounding me, this house is making me numb, the coldness that is now filling the house each minute he has been gone...
Out relationship is going up in flames, that's what it feels like.I heard my phone beep.
I turned around blankly, and picked it up, opening the text.-I'll be home later, don't wait. Marcus-
I locked my phone, placing it on the table next to me.
Looking around, the house has dim light coming from the gaps between the blinds, listening to the start of droplets of rain hit the roof.
I can see the small specs of dust when they pass through the small amount of light, it's quiet, but the silence isn't the comforting sort.~
"Marcus?"
"Yeah?"
"I love you."
"I love you too baby."
"Davis?"
"That's us." we stood up, walking into the room following the doctor.
"Okay Cassandra, please take a seat and lift up your shirt."
I did as I was told, holding Marcus' hand.
"This'll be cold."
I smiled, feeling the gel on my stomach.
"Twins. Congratulations."
~~
"I saw the way you were looking at her."
"At who?"
"Mother Theresa, who do you think Marcus?"
"I've told you before nothing is ever gonna tear us apart, especially not with your problem."
"Wow my problem? Cause suddenly us having twins is my problem? You know what? Jesus! You are such an asshole!"
"At least I'm not a fat fucking bitch!"
He screamed punching the wall, then flipping the table over, causing glass to smash.
"Get out. just go" I stood there..
~My mind keeps on replaying these moments over and over again.
I got up, making my way toward the kitchen, starting to cook dinner.dinner was a roast, so it would take at least a few hours to cook, by the time it's fully cooked, Marcus should be home.As soon as the ovens timer went off, the doorbell did too.
I made my way to the door, my heartbeat mimicking the slow walk down the hallway.
My hard slowly gripped the door knob, pulling it backward."Hey Cas."
I opened the screen door.
"Bring him in."
I stood aside as Dylan and Colby carried Marcus inside.
"Where do you want him?"
"Just put him on the bed guys."
I went and pulled the blankets back.
"What *hiccup* are you doing *hiccup* here!?" He yelled.
I ignored the question, leaving the room and making my way to the kitchen.
A few minutes later I felt a presence with me.
"He told us what happened."
"I know, it's stated in the air."
"It was him being a complete dick." Colby said.
"Well.. did you two want to stay for dinner? Seeing as he won't eat it and it'll just get left in the fridge, then goto waste."
"Why not?"
"Just grab as much as you guys want... I don't know how much you guys would like so go for it."
I sat at the dining room table, the guys following after.
"So how has life been for you cousin?"
"Apart from today.. fine. the twins are okay, growing a bit, we find out in 3 weeks what they are."
"I know this! They're babies!" Colby laughed stupidly.
I laughed at Colby's remark, my cousin hitting him.
"Oi, don't hit."
"So how's the company going?"
Dylan looked at both Colby and I.
"Well... more people are coming in asking for advice on their options on which bike to get."
"What's it like to be going solo? Like you being the boss?"
"Why all of a sudden are you interested?" He laughed.
"I honestly don't know."
"So what does Deli think of you and Marcus?"
"She still hates it, she doesn't trust him."
"I don't understand your sister at times."
"Me neither." I chuckled softly.
Another 10 minutes and we had all finished eating, as soon as I went to grab the plates, Dylan grabbed them, then putting them in the dishwasher, turning it on, grabbing a container and putting the left overs in it.
"I'm taking this because I deserve it."
I laughed.
"It's okay, you two go home now, it's late."
"Night Cas."
"Night cousin I'll see you tomorrow."
"Night you two."
I walked the guys to the door, watching them get into the car, going down the street..I closed the door gently, locking the deadlock, and the normal lock.
I walked into the bedroom, looking at Marcus, on his stomach, his four limbs touching each corner, sleeping peacefully, snoring like there is no one else in the world..
I lift his head softly, my right hand pulling out my pillow, taking it, and walking myself out of the room.I laid down on the couch, and closed my eyes letting sleep consume me..
"We will always be together..
Always..
Through thick and thin babe nothing will separate us.. Because I love you"
I looked at Marcus, tears welling in my eyes..
"You said it.."
"Because I do love you cassie.. You are my angel..."A/N
