Chapter 2

The sun begins to set

You stand there, staring at the Human village as the sky gets darker. Soon you stretch your wings and watch the sun disappear out of view. You lift yourself off the ground and fly quietly and calmly to a cave near the village.
You look around before finding the cave entrance and going near it.

"Hello?" Your voice echos through the cave, you receive no response.
"Ryusei? It's me Kallie."

You hear a small grumble and soon a pair of emerald green orbs become visible in the darkness

"What do you want...?"

His deep intimidating voice doesn't faze you as you continue. "I have a favor to ask of you, you know the humans nearby yes? I need you to kill them using your element, however, i need the bodies intact."

He approches closer, he seems close now but you still can't fully see him through the darkness. "...What's in it for me?..."

You think for a moment before responding
"I would like for me and my friends to receive human forms. If you do this, you could also receive a human form as well if you so desired. If that isn't what you want, I could try getting you anything else you desire in return."

Ryusei takes a short moment to respond
"...That shall do..." His eyes disappear into the darkness, and the cave becomes deathly silent, as if Ryusei was never there.

"Thank you Ryusei. I apologize for bothering you at such a late hour. I will return tomorrow morning." You stand up and spread your wings.

You ascend into the air and fly back to the cold hole in a tree you call your home.
Soon you lay down curled up in a cold icy ball and slowly drift off to sleep.

You're awoken by the sound of someone perching at the entrance of your home. You soon hear Mira's voice

"Wakey wakey Kal"

Kal. That's the nickname Mira gave you

You open your eyes and stretch out your wings as you yawn "Good morning Mira"

Mira smiles "Morning! Did you sleep well?"

"Yes." You look at Mira blankly

"That's good. I've been thinking about yesterday, are you going through with that?" Mira looks at you curiously with a slight bit of worry in her voice.

"I've already spoken to Ryusei..." You stare at her blankly as you continue "i told him I'd return in the morning."

Mira looks at you worriedly "so, you're serious about it?"

You nod and she sighs

"Alright, at least let me come with you. It's dangerous and I'm not entirely sure if Ryusei can even be trusted in the first place."

You nod again and jump from the tree, spreading your wings and gliding in the air before ascending as Mira follows

Mira begins to speak to you while you both fly to Ryusei "What about Ichiro? He seems very against all this, you don't think he'll try and interfere do you?"

You once again respond blankly while flying "I'm not sure, all i know is that i really wanted a human form, so i could get physically closer to him."

"Not sure how that will work, considering he hates humans so much, wouldn't he want to be around you less in that form?"
