Sirius Black and his god son year one

Chapter one: the boy who lived

              On a cold Halloween night in Godric's Hallow, the dark lord came to the Potters. The dark lord killed Lily and James Potter but when the dark lord tried to kill James and Lily's one year old son the spell backfired defeating the dark lord. A few hours pass and Dumbledore arrives in Godric hollow to check on the potters. When he approaches the house his heart sinks immediately fearing the worse and sends a message to Sirius Black to come to the Godric Hollow immediately.

A few seconds later Sirius appears near Dumbledore. Sirius looks at the Potter's house that is in ruins.

"Who lived here and are they all dead?" asked Sirius.

"I have not been inside, yet I was waiting for you, you do realize this is where James and Lily are hiding, are you able to go inside or do you wish to wait out here for me."

"No I'll come in with you." said Sirius starting to sob fearing the worse about his best friends.

Sirius and Dumbledore take out their wands and head inside to the Potter's house. The first sight they see as entering the house is James Potter's dead body lying on the floor.

"It looks like James tried to fight off the intruder." Said Dumbledore.

Sirius looks down at his best friend and drops down to his knees crying.

"...Pongs nooo I should have been here to protect you I shouldn't have let you name him secret keeper." whispers Sirius to his dead best friend.

Dumbledore lets him be for a few seconds and check the rest of the downstairs and comes back to where Sirius and James are.

"No sign of Lily or Harry yet Sirius." Said Dumbledore.

Sirius doesn't even knowledge that he heard what Dumbledore said he grabs his wand by his side and runs up the stairs. Dumbledore follows. They reach Harry's nursery where Harry is sitting in his crib crying and Lily is laying on the floor next to the crib also dead. Sirius breaks down again crying looking at Harry.

"I'm so sorry Harry this is my fault." Said Sirius.

"Sirius only Me and the one they chose to be secret keeper knew where they were I'm assuming Lily and James choose you are you sure you didn't accidently tell anyone the whereabouts of the Potters, or someone could of curse you or gave you a truth serum?" Asked Dumbledore.

Sirius looked up at Dumbledore still crying. " I wasn't the secret keeper James, Remus, and I knew that Voldemort would think that James choose one of us two to be the secret keeper, so James decided to make Peter the secret keeper and figured it be best if us four were the only ones that knew that James changed his mind who the secret keeper was supposed to be I haven't seen or talked to James or Lily since they went into hiding."

"I'm so sorry Sirius but it sounds like Peter might have told someone we should find him to see what happen."

"Yes, Dumbledore I will find him and when I do, I'm going to kill him he sold them out it's his fault they are dead. I would have died before giving them up if I was the secret keeper, you should know that Dumbledore."

"Sirius you are still Harry's god father; he will need you now more than ever you will need to raise him teach him about his mom and dad. If you go after Peter, you will either get killed or kill Peter then you will be sent to Azkaban then where will Harry be without you his only other living relative is Petunia Lily's sister. Lily and James would rather Harry be with you instead of with them."

"Remus can take Harry if anything happens to me but I got to find Peter I need to know the truth."

"Remus can't take Harry with his full moon problem he wouldn't always be able to care him and when he turns, he not himself you know that Sirius."

"Fine then what will we do you suggest we do about Peter he can't get away with this it's their fault he is dead."

" Peter won't be getting away with anything Sirius I'll head to the ministry of magic right after we are done here, I'll tell them that you weren't the secret keeper and Peter was they will send aurors after him to bring him in for questioning we will get to the truth if he did sell them out to Voldemort, he will spend the rest of his life in Azkaban. Sirius James wouldn't want his best friend no his brother turns into a murderer let the ministry handle this I'll make sure they send Alastor to find him."

"Thank you, Sir will you have someone, get all the stuff from here that not ruined, and have it put up for when Harry is ready for it."

" Yes, take Harry get out of here now before more death eaters start looking go fill Remus in on what's happening word going to travel fast once this gets out and Remus would want to hear it from you instead of anyone else."

Dumbledore vanishes in front of Sirius. Sirius reaches down to Harry picking him up.

"Let's go god son your safe now let's go see uncle Moony
