I couldn't get much sleep that night. So finally at 5 am I decided I could get up and start to get ready. I took a quick cold shower, washing my hair, deciding that I would blow dry and curl it. My hair sits above my shoulders and is a mahogany colour (if that gives you any perspective). I couldn't decide on an outfit so I just wore my go-to; black work pants (with a tiny gold buckled belt), a black blazer and a black bodysuit. I thought it was a safe choice because I wasn't given a dress code. After I'd waited for what felt like forever I took my rental car from my apartment to the FBI headquarters finally arriving at 8:00 am. I grabbed my FBI badge and my new gun and headed straight to the BAU floor. The moment the elevator doors opened to the BAU floor was a moment I can't describe. I'd been waiting for my whole career and it was finally here. I saw Reid, Elle, Emily, and Dereck at their desks doing some paperwork. I walked in and (I can't believe I did this) but I walked in the middle of the bullpen and I fainted. I fucking fainted like why does my body feel the need to faint in the middle of my dream job. Anyway, I wake up to Emily freaking Prentiss with her hand on my arm looking in my face and asking me " Are you okay? Are you okay?". I quickly get up and try to recover from this horrendous experience. "Ya, I'm good I'm good". Then I try to make a proper introduction as professionally as I can; "I can't believe that I just did that. I'm so sorry! I'm SSA Y/N Y/L/N". Emily like a freaking goddess says "All good, all good. We've been waiting to see who our new member would be! You should probably sign in with Hotch first but come find me after and I'll give you a tour." "Sounds good! Where is his office?", I reply. "Oh it's right up here," she says while pointing up to an office in the corner of the room. "Thank you, SSA Prentiss." "Call me Prentiss" Prentiss responds almost immediately. "Okay, Prentiss, call me Y/L/N," I say, already feeling right at home.
After I'd signed in with Hotch I went to find Prentiss for that tour she said she would give me. It was pretty easy as she was in the middle of the bullpen at her desk. "Hey, Prentiss, I'm ready for that tour you were talking about," I say. "Well to start this is Morgan, Spencer, and Greenaway, our desks are altogether right here and yours will be right beside mine," she says with a smile on her face. While she said each one of my new team members' names I shook their hands saying mine in turn. She begins to walk up the stairs pointing to the other two offices; one in the middle and the other on the right-hand corner opposite of Hotch's. "This is the office of our co-chiefs Gideon and Rossi." She opens the door to Rossi's office first. "Rossi this is our new agent," Prentiss says while opening the door. "Y/L/N, nice to meet you" I respond while shaking Rossi's hand. "We're heading to Gideon's office next," Prentiss tells Rossi. "Oh well watch out!" Rossi jokes. As we walk to Gideon's office Prentiss gives me some more information about the office. She tells me that they meet in this room that's off of Gideon's office whenever they brief a case and then they head off in their jet. As we are almost at Gideon's office he walks out. "Gideon, this is agent Y/L/N, she's joining our team" Prentiss introduces me. "Nice meeting you, I've been a major fan of your work for years", I say while shaking Gideon's hand. "I'm giving them a tour, next up JJ's and Garcia".
"See you around", Gideon says. "Next up is Garcia's office. She's our technical Analyst and can find almost anything. She's also really nice, I think you'll like her" She stops and opens the door. Inside three of the four walls are filled with screens and in the middle theirs who I'm assuming is Garcia. "Garcia? I'm agent Y/L/N" I say while shaking her hand. "Oh well, welcome to the office of supreme genius, I bet we are going to have a ton of fun together" Garcia responds. "Definitely!" I exclaim. "We're headed to JJ's office want to come?" Prentiss asks. "Sure!'" Garcia says. We walk down the hallway and knock on the door, "Coming in!" Prentiss says a little louder than her usual speaking voice. "JJ, this is our newest agent!" Garcia tells JJ. "You can call me Y/L/N," I say. Just then Dereck comes into the office saying we have a new case. We all make our way to the room, that Prentiss has told me about.
I didn't want to admit it but I was excited about this case. I was excited about my new life with this new team in this new city.
