On Stage

I waited off to the side of the stage. I waited until eight beats before my solo to run on stage. I held my violin up to my shoulder and started to play. It was high at first a G with my finer all the way up in the fingerboard. I let my fingers fly through the music I had memorized perfectly. I danced around on stage, sometimes spinning and twirling and at others swaying, however the music made me feel. It had completely taken over.

My light blue dress moved with me, looking like water.

I played with y eyes closed, still dancing around. The audience was silent. I stopped playing with the rest of the orchestra. The audience started to clap.

I took a deep breath an played the last 18 measures as fast as I could. The song was officially over.

The audience clapped and whistled.

Then my eyes opened. I was back on the park bench with a crowd of people and a violin case full of money.

I smiled and bowed to the large crowd.
