Have you ever noticed that when cars are driving their tires hug the ground they speed across.
It's almost as if the tires want to just stop where they are every moment they can.
But we keep powering the engine that forces the wheels to keep spinning and spinning and spinning, never stopping until we've reached our destination.Humans are like tires. They want to stay as they are for as long as they can.
Nobody wants to move on from life.
It is uncertain what happens after we've lived.
Whether there is a heaven, hell, blank slates, or nothingness.
We want to stay where we are comfortable. Where we know what is happening around us. We want to stay where our hearts cannot be popped like a tire over a nail. When I was 11 I was driving to school with my dad when the car in front of us had a tire blow.
This tire didn't just pop, it exploded into shreds of burning rubber.
My dad pulled over and helped her replace her tire with the spare.
I kept thinking about the tire, it was just forgotten and replaced.
No one would remember anything about the tire except that it exploded.
They wouldn't remember road trips, traffic jams, or moving.
The owners of that tire will only remember that it exploded.
This is why I'm afraid to die.
Will anyone remember me for me when I'm gone, or will they only remember that I am dead?Hola! I hope you liked this poem. I like comparing life to things that aren't typically used in that way. Hence the car tires. If you notice any mistakes or think of something that could make this better please let me know! BTW all my readers are called ducklings. I just decided that with my sleep deprived brain so you're gonna have to deal with it. Also if you have any particular thing you want me to write a poem about PLEASE let me know. I need as much inspiration as I can get! Thanks for reading
