Preperation- Chapter 2

𝔭𝔯𝔢𝔳𝔦𝔬𝔲𝔰𝔩𝔶..

You rub your neck from embarassment. Mirabel laughs and pulls you into a hug. Maybe it's not so bad here I hope I will fit in without a gift.
Mirabel: Come on I'll show you your room!
Y/n's POV:

Mirabel grabs your hand and drags you up the stairs but all you could think of was that boy... Was it Camilo?
Mirabel: Um Y/n are you there?
She states as she waves her hand in front of your face.

Y/n: Oh yeah sorry what were you saying?
Mirabel giggles and rolls her eyes, she leads you to a room with a white door with big letters that spell out "Y/n L/n's Room!" You enter it and see a room with some pictures, a bed with pillows, and a dresser.

Y/n: WOW, I love you thank you guys so much! you exclaimed while jumping up and down.

You pull Mirabel into a tight hug unexpectedly Mirabel hesitates but hugs back.
You too were about to leave the room before someone uninvited bursts in the room. It was that boy from earlier.
Camilo: Hey Mirabel and Y/n, sorry for bursting in and disturbing you both I just wanted to say sorry to Y/n for calling her that "inappropriate" name earlier." Camilo states while a smirk starts to tug on his lips.

Authors POV:
Y/n looks at the boy with dazed eyes. (Y/n's mind: he's perfect, his brown curls, his smirk, his voice, everything. I wanted to know everything about him.) You snap back into reality after realizing the room was silent while they both waited on you to reply.
"It's fine, I accept your apology." Y/n states. The room goes silence as it fills up with awkwardness.
Mirabel quickly shoos Camilo out the room.

"I'm sorry about that Y/n, he's a flirt." Mirabel says.
Y/n nods and sits down on her new bed. "This bed is so comfortable!!!" Y/n thinks. Mirabel sits next to Y/n putting her hands on her lap. They both sit in silence as they reflect on their days so far.

Y/n yawns which alerts Mirabel making her jump. "I'm so sorry Mira, excuse me!" Y/n says. "It's okay I was just zoning out, you look tired maybe you should take a nap in your new room and you can unpack your bags later!" Mirabel states getting up from the bed.

You only nod in response closing your eyes after hearing the door close lightly.

-A short nap later-

You wake up after a short nap. You sit up, and stretch and get out of bed. You bend down on the floor and grab your luggage and put it on your bed. You start unpacking your items. You put your clothes in the closet, setup your desk, and hang up your paintings.

When you were a kid you loved to draw, paint or do anything involved in art. You were a very artistic, creative kid.

~Flashback time~⚠️

Y/n's POV:
I was finally starting school today! I was so excited for the art club after school! I love art! "Y/n come downstairs we have some news." F/N (Fathers name) shouts from downstairs . You run downstairs excited to go to school to meet new friends only to find your dog de@d in your parents arms. Blood was everywhere. Your parents soon told you she was ran over by a car and the car just drove off. It was the worst experience for you. You never got to go to school or the art club. You mourned your dogs death for 6 years. They never found the killer.

~End of Flashback~

You sit down at your desk, about to sketch something but you hear a  knock at your door. You get up from your desk and open the door to see Camilo? What did he want? "Hey Camilo, what do you need?" You ask the curly haired boy. "U-um hey Y/n, I just wanted to see if you were awake to wake you up for lunch." He said stammering before starting his sentence. "Yes, I'm awake and I'll be down there soon I need to do something real quick can you show me where the bathroom is?" You ask him and give him a soft smile.

~Time Skip~

You step out the restroom and are about to walk to the table. "BOO!" Camilo screams and jumps out from a bush. You get scared and trip up on a rock and close your eyes waiting for you to hit the ground but a pair of arms catch you. You look up to see your savior and you see Camilo, looking at you worriedly. "I'm sorry for scaring you but at least I caught you, again I didn't mean to scare you that bad!" Camilo says examining you everywhere to make sure you didn't have any injuries.

You give him a reassuring smile to show your okay. He puts you back on your feet and you both walk outside to the dining table. "Y/n can you come help me with this?" Asks Pepa. You turn around and give Camilo a wink and smirk before running to help Pepa with whatever she needed. (This scene is from Encanto where they ate outside and the time skip was when Mirabel and Abuela talked and Camilo helped José)

You walk back into Casita and she opens the doors for you. "Thank you Casita." You say. You walk over to where Pepa and Felíx. "Hey Y/n I just needed help with these decorations for Antonio's ceremony tonight!" Pepa states. You nod and help her hang up some balloons and party streamers. You start to walk away but are pushed back by a strong wind. "My baby's night has to be perfect and it's not perfect and people are going to be coming." Pepa says while panicking. "Your ruining the flowers, the flowers." Felìx tries to yell over the tornado.

"Did someone say flowers?" Isabela says from coming downstairs hanging on a vine. Everyone starts clapping and cheering other than Mirabel and I. She gets off her vine and gives the married couple a bouquet of flowers. She also gives you a single rose. "Thank you." All three of you say. Pepa and Felíx walk up the stairs which leaves you, Mirabel, and Isabela. Isabela flips her hair in Mirabel's face. "If you weren't always  trying so hard maybe you wouldn't be in the way." Isabela says starting to walk away. "Actually Isa, this is called helping and I'm not in the way you ar-." Mirabel argues back but before she could finish she runs into a pillar with flowers.

Isabela rolls her eyes and finally walks away. Mirabel walks to the kitchen to put down her box of decorations. You were left standing there alone. You walk back outside and your eyes wonder the beautiful atmosphere around you. "Y/n over here!" Camilo shouts getting your attention. You walk over to him and he gives you a small smile. "So what's my favorite new townsperson up too?" Camilo asks. "Nothing really, just helping everyone decorate for Antontio's ceremony tonight." You answer. Camilo nods and you both talk until your interrupted by Luisa bringing in the dining table. Camilo rushes over to the food table and starts adding tons of food to his plate.

You follow him and do the same, adding smaller portions that is. You both finish filling up your plates with Julieta's delicious cooking. Camilo walks over to the dining table and sits down, leaving you standing confused on where to sit. Abuela makes her way over to the table. "Casita please make room for Y/n to sit next to Camilo." Abuela states, and just like that there was a chair right next to Camilo. A few minutes pass and now everyone was at the table just doing small talk with eachother. Camilo seems rather impatient waiting to dig into his meal. Finally Alma starts her speech. "Everyone, today we earned a new townsperson named Y/n who everyone should know as we waited for their arrival for many months please treat them with respect and welcome them warmly." Abuela says. "Now, La Familia Madrigal." Abuela says raising her glass. "La Familia Madrigal!" Everyone repeats in a chant.

Everyone starts eating their meals as some get up and wonder around town doing their chores.
