᯾𝚃𝚑𝚒𝚜 𝚒𝚜 𝚊 𝚜𝚊𝚍 𝚊𝚞 𝚜𝚘 𝙸 𝚌𝚊𝚗 𝚍𝚘 𝚊 𝚏𝚕𝚞𝚏𝚏 𝚙𝚝 2 𝚒𝚏 𝚢𝚘𝚞 𝚠𝚊𝚗𝚝. 𝙸𝚗 𝚝𝚑𝚒𝚜 𝚊𝚞 𝚝𝚑𝚎𝚢'𝚛𝚎 𝚍𝚊𝚝𝚒𝚗𝚐 𝚊𝚗𝚍 𝚑𝚊𝚟𝚎 𝚋𝚎𝚎𝚗 𝚕𝚘𝚗𝚐 𝚍𝚒𝚜𝚝𝚊𝚗𝚌𝚒𝚗𝚐 𝚏𝚘𝚛 𝚊𝚛𝚘𝚞𝚗𝚍 8 𝚖𝚘𝚗𝚝𝚑𝚜.᯾

3rd pov:
Shinozaki was waiting in his apartment for his boyfriend to call him. They'd been away from each other for a while now and everyday Kensei would call him at 5 o'clock sharp without fail. It was 5:02 and still no call from his boyfriend. Shinozaki was about to call him first instead but Kensei beat him to it.
He quickly picked up the phone, "Hey... you're a bit late today." Reo waited for a response but never got one. "Hey? Maeshima are you there?" Reo asked worryingly.
"Yeah...! Sorry, late practice. I'm here," Kensei said quickly.
They both fell silent for a moment. Reo finally filled their void of silence, "We need to talk."
"...Yeah ok. Go ahead..."
"Kensei... I-I really love you!" you could almost here Haeshima's heart beat faster over the phone, "but... I don't know if I can do this anymore."
"Reo...!"
"I'm not done."
Haeshima was quiet. He waited for Shinozaki to continue.
"You've been in Japan for 8 months. I've been watching the news and you haven't had any major accomplishments at all," Reo said as he sunk back into his bed.
Kensei felt his pride shrink as he responded weakly, "I-I won first place in every event!"
"Exactly," Reo said, "there's nothing more for you there! Please just come with me to America! Or we could go to Russia or somewhere else where there's more! We could try out for the Olympics together."
"Babe, I-"
Shinozaki had cut him off, "I miss you... I want you to come with me, if you won't come with me then... maybe we should end things." A single tear ran down Reo's cheek.
Kensei couldn't speak. He didn't know what to do. He knew there was more for him with Reo but... he didn't want to leave his friends and family behind like he did before. They had said they wouldn't blame him if he left, after all it's every skaters dream. He still just couldn't do it though. "Please don't say that," he whispered helplessly.
"What do you want me to do Kensei!?" Reo yelled, "Wait on you!? I've waited 8 months! And you still haven't made up your mind!"
"Reo ple-"
"Haeshima I can't wait on you any longer," Reo began to sob.
"I-I... Reo I can't, not yet. I'm not ready Reo. I love you too but I'm just... not ready to leave," Kensei said as he hung his head over his arm.
Shinozaki could feel tears roll down his pink cheeks as he huddled up underneath his heavy covers. "Then I guess this is goodbye, I love you..."
"Wait! Shin-" Haeshima tried to blink a tear away as he saw that the call had been ended.
"Everything ok?" Hayato shouted from the other side of the ice rink.
Haeshima choked back a sob and yelled back a quick, "Yeah!"
After Hayato had left Kensei sat on an empty bench and started crying. He sat alone in the dim litted area as chokes and sobs left his throat.
On the other side of the world, Reo hadn't stopped crying until he fell asleep to the sound of his own sobs.
