Iguro's pov
It had been a few months after we got married, my parents relationship got better and they were hardly any fights. They both had jobs now so I would often go by Giyuu's if neither couldn't be home. Of course Tustako was also due to marry in a couple of weeks. So she too would be quite busy not that either us of mind. Today was my parents's off day so they were looking after us while Tustako prepared for her own wedding. The sun was pretty bright so me and Giyuu had to lay in the shadow of the tree so that the sunlight couldn't blind us.
"I can't wait for nee-san's wedding!" Giyuu told me as he lay on my lap.
"Same here, I wonder how many people will be there?" I asked him with curiosity.
"Probably the whole town, if we're lucky a few close friends." Giyuu replied sighing.
Ever since we got married, Giyuu and I avoided the town since I would be treated like a monster because of my eyes and we hated crowded places anyways. After a couple of hours, we went inside for lunch.
"Hey boys, I made some cake for lunch would you like some?"My mother asked us holding a large cake in her hands.
"Yes please!" Giyuu said while running in the kitchen ,I followed him. After we ate lunch we went back to the tree since the sun wasn't bright now. There was a few flowers nearby so Giyuu decided to make flower crowns for us both and I helped him. Soon we fell asleep, the sky got dark and it was almost night. All of a sudden, we heard screaming coming from my house and rushed there. My parents were no where to be found, when we got to my room, we suddenly got shoved into my closet by my dad.
"There's a demon here, it just ate your mom!" he told me instructing that we be quiet. I couldn't believe it,my parents were sacrificing themselves for our sakes. My dad then threw something at us saying to cover ourselves so that the demon could smell us in the closet. Scared we did exactly as he said quickly as the demon made its way to my room. We watched in horror as the demon started to eat my dad. Tears were running down our faces as we watched the horribly scene. What could we do? We were just children with no knowledge of killing demons. The demon looked around the room as if we was looking for us. "I guess I'll have to come back!" it said leaving.
Giyuu's pov
Me and Iguro rushed out of his house and into the town yelling at the top of our lungs. Someone greeted us and asked what was wrong. Of course we tried to explain but they dismissed the idea and said we were crazy. Iguro kept on saying that it did happen but no one would believe him. That's when the townsfolk said if we kept talking about what happened, they'll have us arrested for murder. Neither of us could believe it and I grabbed his hand running to my home.
"Iguro, its going to be okay and you still have me and nee-san! "I told him wiping his tears away when we reached the house. We both went inside, looking for my sister. She was in the kitchen making dinner but turned to see Iguro in tears.
" What happened? "She asked us trying to comfort Iguro." We saw Iguro's parents get killed and eaten by a demon, we tried telling the townsfolk but they called us crazy!" I told her still holding Iguro's hand tightly. My sister was horrified at what we told her.
" Oh Iguro, I'm so sorry about what happened." She told him pulling him in for a hug." Me and Giyuu are here for you alright?" she added wiping his tears away again. Iguro was so traumatized that he couldn't speak. How could he, his parents were killed in front of him and he was labeled crazy for trying to get help.
"Don't be sad dear, things are going to get better! "I told him kissing his forehead. He smiled and kissed me back, however I would soon find out how I wrong I was.
